Great series!
I loved the first book in the Gordon Pope mystery series, The Sleepwalkers, and ordered the second book, Mind Games, as soon as I finished the first. B. B. Griffith has become my favorite writer. His characters are engaging and interact well as their relationships build. Gordon Pope is my new hero; he’s humble, brave, insightful, and caring. More Gordon Pope, please!

Good But Not Great Like The Sleepwalkers
I would have still given it 5 stars, were it not for a few nits (NO spoilers):1. A couple of incidents that were too contrived. One involved someone throwing something at someone, as though they'd been waiting for that person. But how could they have known?2. Though still a good read, it lacked the depth that The Sleepwalkers had. In The Sleepwalkers, the reader got to experience the unfolding of the mystery every step of the way. But in Mindgames, one of the characters simply announced the answer, without telling the reader how they arrived at that conclusion. That was a missed opportunity for the author to include more psychiatric, intellectual depth, which is exactly what I liked so much about The Sleepwalkers. I felt that Mindgames left us hanging, without a full explanation.3. In both books, the main character is a bit of a bumbler, but in the first book, there is a good explanation as to why. But in Mindgames, he had every reason to exude more confidence, but he was still an insecure bumbler! That aspect of his personality was too over-the-top, for a professional. Yes, I realize that professionals have problems too, but it just seemed a little overdone. At the very least, he should have been comfortable with all children, being that that was what he did for a living.4. The explanations for how the main character got out of the mess, and how they dealt with the bad cop situation, were less than satisfactory. In short, the ending seemed rushed and incomplete.I realize that's sort of a lot of nits, but actually the book was still pretty good. On a positive note, the part about Dana's experience in her mind was quite well done.I will definitely read the next book in this series.

Mystery At It's Finest
B.B. Griffith delvers again in his Gordon Pope series. I wish there were more than two books!! He draws his characters carefully, believeably, and fully, making them so real. Each one is done in a way that I felt I knew them, liked them, or hated them. And the stories are out of the ordinary. I've read both Sleepwalker and Mind Games now, and his research in the realm of child psychology, dreams, sleepwalking, schizophrenia are all very deep. And he does twists very well. I highly recommend both Gordon Pope books. If you have read his Vanishing Series and liked or loved it, this will keep you in his fan club.

It was an absolute thriller
For the first time, I came across a book written by B.B. Griffith. I enjoyed reading this book. I finished reading the book within 2-3 days as it had a smooth pace and flow. Even though this was a work of fiction, the plot and story were completely believable. The book "Mind Games" would be a worthwhile read for other readers.

Really Good!
Just as good as his first one! Good mind games and believable characters. I really like Gordon but I sort of feel sorry for him. Will read the next one for sure!

Not AS Good as The Sleepwalkers, but still Fantastic!
This is another great psychological mystery/thriller, featuring the guy who's fast becoming my favourite fictional psychologist, Dr Gordon Pope.I enjoyed the story, and it's a fine continuation of the series, but in my opinion, it's just not as good as The Sleepwalkers. It just seemed very slow. It dragged along and I skimmed a lot, and stuff only really started happening around the 50% mark.Like the first book, the editing was flawless, and I'll say again that what I like about this series is that the book can be read completely as a standalone. You need to know very little about what happened last time, and what little you DO need to know is explained to you, when you need to know it.What's more, I don't think you'd miss out on anything at all if you happened to read this book first, and then moved on to Book One afterwards.I hope Mr Griffith writes more Gordon Pope, and just so I don't miss it, I even signed up for his New Release Mailing List. I NEVER sign up for other authors' mailing lists!

MORE GORDON POPE, PLEASE
I just finished MIND GAMES by B. B. Griffith and found it a worth successor to the first book in the series, SLEEPWALKERS. Gordon Pope, a child psychologist, returns to solve the mystery of who is setting fires to a school in a posh neighborhood outside Baltimore. He is again assisted by Dana Frisco, a policewoman with whom Gordon has gotten involved and his mother who is facing challenges of her own. Griffith has written a fast paced tale that kept me engaged from start to finish. I can't wait for the next book in the series.

A good read
It starts out a little slow but eventually picks up. The characters are fun and personable. Keeps you guessing until towards the end. Worth reading!
