Bates Men's Code 6.8 Inch Side-Zip Lightweight Tactical Boot

very light and instantly comfortable. i think the sizing is like a half size too big. i wear 11.5 and think an 11 would be better here. the width is perfect. i ordered extra wide. the half size difference isn't a big deal but i wouldn't mind trying a half size smaller just to see the /difference. Update here /4/18/16 I am actually on my second pair now since the earlier comment and bought these a half size smaller and they are fine. i got 11's this time. i honestly wear them as slippers in the evening sometimes.

Nice boots.They are light, durable and comfortable. I work in a kitchen and the slip-resistance is very good. I also ride a dual sport motorcycle to and from work and the plastic peice on the bottom (intended for extra support I believe) also protects the boot from being damaged by the foot pegs. I purchased a pair of 6" from Bates and ordered an 11. I went by the Amazon size chart (which suggested a size 12) and got an 11.5. It fits fine but I probably could have stuck with the 11.

I have been wearing Bates Tactical boots for a number of years. usually when I wear them I am on a military base teaching. I will be wearing them all day long on hard concrete to grass, dirt and mud. Overall I have been pleased with Bates (I used to do Rocky's) so I decided to try this light weight version of the 8 inch tactical boot.I ordered a 10.5 D which is what I ordered before from Bates. This boot seems a bit tighter on the sides than my previous boot. I am going to switch to a thinner sock so that should keep me comfortable. Still my normal foot size is a 10.Quality and construction seems good. I have only worn them for a couple of days, and not yet in a teaching environment. But first impressions are they are lighter than their standard boots, and seem to be a bit cooler enabling me to wear them for a longer time with relative comfort. The support in the arch seems good, yet enough flex when walking or running.The finish on the toe is a bit dull for my taste, and it looks to be synthetic vs a natural leather. I'll polish them up and see if I can get a good shine to my liking.4 stars - Overall these seem to be decent, I am dinging them 1 star for the tight fit, and dull finish.UPDATE: A few days later. As I break them in, they are loosening up a bit. I also just did my first application of Kiwi, so I am starting to get a shine. A few more applications and they will be where I want them. So I will up my rating by 1/2 star to 4.5

I have owned these boots for a few months now, wearing them daily to work, and at times hiking. They are very light compared to all my other boots. The reason I didnt give these boots the full 5 stars is because i believe the material for the soles are cheap. The tread breaks down fast and pieces of the tread would actually come off as a whole.

Great quality and craftsmanship and they really look futuristic. Good for hot weather and the asphalt, I am in Arizona and a patrol officer so my feet are always exposed to the extreme heat and these are great so far. Very cool and comfortable and my feet are not sweaty and soar at the end of the day, I usually walk around 2-5 miles a day from my vehicle and back all day.

To start, I ordered this boot as my partner at work got them and raved about how lightweight and breathable they were. I ordered my size, 11, but when I got them they were too big. I returned them and had to purchase a new pair in a size 10. When I initially ordered them, they were on sale, but since I had to exchange the size I had to pay full price (through Amazon). An issue that I feel is total bs, but so be it. I've now worn the boots for less than 2 months and the tread on the bottom of my left boot has begun to fall apart. My previous pair of duty boots were Rocky's and lasted 3 years of patrol without any issues. Bates return policy for defects is to send the pair of boots in for inspections. Thanks but I need a pair of boots for work so now I have to go buy another pair while you inspect them? 8 years in law enforcement and never had this poor quality of boots before. Highly recommend not purchasing these if you're looking for a quality boot that will hold up

This boots are very cool and comfortable. They are ideal for warm and dry climates, but all the ventilation could be a liability in wet weather. The soles are more like running shoes than boots, which lends to their comfort and there was no need to break them in. The zippers work well to quickly take them on and off. The most comfortable boots I have owned. I wore them day and night for a week at Burning Man and my feet were happy. Highly recommend for the right applications and environments!

I've been wearing these boots for a couple months -- they look good, and they fit comfortably and true to size. After a few weeks, part of the sole started coming off... it was just a little piece on one of the edges, I didn't think much of it. About a month later now, large pieces of the sole are coming off. I imagine I'll be able to get another month or two out of these before I have to replace them. I could try repairing them, but this is definitely not a durable set of boots.If you're looking for a durable, long-lasting boot, look elsewhere and heed the warnings from other buyers about the sole peeling off.

Tremendamente ligeras, no se derrapan, ergonómicas. Sentía arriesgado comprar zapatos por internet, sin embargo, el tamaño es correcto respecto al número. Tenía tiempo buscando unas botas así y ahora no las quiero gastar xD. Me encantan.

リピート購入です。前の物が履き潰れてきたので再購入。恐ろしく軽いです。先芯は入っているように見えて入ってません。安全靴として使うのは厳しいかも。バイク乗りやサバゲー、普段履きにはとてもいいです。非金属のため空港の保安検査でもいちいち脱がずにすみます。個人的にはデザインが好きです。
