Q: I have the Square D Pressure Switch FSG2J24CP. Every 30 min - even with no water use and no leaks it clicks on for a moment. Normal?

Definitely not normal. Most likely there is a small leak in a faucet, toilet or other fixture. Also check that the threads are well sealed (teflon tape) at the switch. The switch also has a small replaceable rubber diaphragm that may develop a pinhole leak causing a very slow loss of pressure and trigger the switch. I recentlly replaced this switch due to a similar cycling issue, but eventually traced it down to a small crack in the 30 year old plastic pipe in my well. Keep looking; you will eventually find the problem.

Q: is Square D 9013fsg2 the same as FSG2J24CP ?

I have this very same Square D 9013fsg2 with the 40 - 60 PSI pressure switch that gave out after two decades and when I replaced it recently, I purchased Model No. Pressure Switch #FSG2J24CP. I noticed that the inside of the the grey cover matches exactly with the same number of that of 9013fsg2 and when my husband installed it, we had no problems whatsoever. So in response to your question, the answer is a definite YES.

Purchase a switch that is similar / same as what you now have. There are many different kinds of switches with varying internal construction. Normally, you should see two terminal lugs on the switch body.

Q: Is the nut on the top the only thing holding the cover on? Rather be safe than sorry

That's it. Screw down the nut, but not real tight when you are done adjusting it. First time taking the cover off, unscrew the nut and pull straight up.
