Q: Will it hold a vacuum after I release the handle?

Yes it will hold. It will only drop if you don’t have it attached right or there’s a vaccum leak

It is supposed to..I bought one..it could not supply enough pressure to reverse bleed a atv brake system..or even supply enough vacuum... I returned it..hope this helps

Q: Can it do positive pressure and pumping or does it only do vacuum?

Turning the dial on the nozzle or tip changes from vacuum to pressure. At least the one I purchased works like that. This looks to be the same one. I used mine for power 💪 steering after using it to vacuum all fluid and our out system I simply turned dial and filled system with new clean power 💪 steering fluid. Turning dial gives positive pressure and turning the opposite direction gives negative pressure (vacuum)
