Although this tablet is much bigger than my first Kindle, it is still a good take along and read accessory. It is fairly light, again, not as light as my first tablet, and looks great. I always get a cover for mine when I purchase them to help keep the screen protected and that seems to be enough to ensure their longevity. The most remarkable thing about this tablet is the battery life. I get at least 10 hrs plus on a charge and that amount doesn’t seem to decay over time when not in use. I am sure that will change with battery life but the charge time is short and its battery efficiency is simply the best part of the tablet. It’s fast, the ads aren’t anymore invasive than my previous tablet and it is reliable. What more could you ask of a reader?

The media could not be loaded. I always choose the Fire tablets. They are lightweight, the color choices are amazing, they feel great in your hands, the fit right into my laptop case and I've yet to have a problem with one that Amazon couldn't fix right away.I am not, however a fan of the new case. The quality is just not what I thought it should be. It peels from the edges, it is difficult to get it to stand on smooth surfaces and not all angles are ok to prop.As far as the tablet itself? I've been buying these as long as I can remember. Upgrading every few years. Paper-white, readers, I have bought the children versions for my Granddaughters, and so on.You cannot go wrong, it has the Silk Browser (their version of Google), their app store, Kindle bookstore, and room for anything that you want! There's a slot for a memory card to expand you possibilities and explore the world.

The tablet cover was made for the Amazon Fire 10 thus the fit is assured. However, to my surprise mine came off unexpectedly. This was easily remedied with double sided tape. Now the fit is as expected and the protection assured.

I recently bought an Amazon Fire HD 10 Tablet and I love it, so I want to protect my purchase. I was given a cover by a friend who purchased multiple non-Amazon covers for her family's Fire HD 10 Tablets. She had an extra one and told me not to buy the Amazon cover.The "knock-off" cover was flimsy and the openings to insert headphones and the charger weren't lined up properly. This particular cover didn't stand well either. Consequently, I decided to purchase the cover Amazon made for my tablet.What a difference! The Amazon cover is well made and has some weight (not too much!) to it. It feels durable and the stand works properly. I'm glad I bought this cover to protect my tablet.
