The Armanen rune set was originally developed by Guido Von List (1848-1919), and he claimed them to be a rediscovery of the primal Magical Runes. These runes came to Von List in a vision while he was suffering temporary blindness. The most original concept in his rune set is List’s claim that his 18 runes correspond to the “18 Magical Spells” spoken by the Norse god Odin. In the old poem, Havamal, "the high ones words”, Odin speaks of 18 spells to avert any woe in the struggles of life. There are spells for Victory in War, Healing, Marriage, Protection in Battle, and so forth. Guidance by these runes maintains a healthy, balanced way of being, in accordance with the rest of Creation,a harmony between Man and Nature. On the front of our original Magical Amulet, is the Mother Rune, Hagal, in the Tree of Life form. The 18 "blooms” around the branches of the Tree correspond to the 18 runes. "Follow the laws of nature, and harmonious growth is the reward." The back of the amulet has the runes laid around the World Tree map of Yggdrasil, showing the nine halls of the gods, or the nine dimensions. The central world in the tree is Midgardh (middle garden), where we exist and where all things are possible. This Magical Amulet is designed to bring the wearer all the benefits of the individual runes, and to bring ones Being into Harmony with Nature, ensuring a Happy, Healthy life, and to bring Balance, Strength and Longevity to ones life.

Love it!!!
I just received this item and it is beautiful! Excellent quality and I totally love it! I will wear it with my Viking series pendant and my raven pendant. All I'm going to change is the string for real suade leather which I did with all my other pendants!Thank you (:

Very Nice item
This product is very nice, however it is rather small in size. But don't let that deter you away from buying this pendant, I would recommend buying it if you are really into ancient rune accessories for they put a lot of detail into this item

Had this item for nearly 6 months now, and I do wear it religiously (pun intended) night and day, without taking it off. I bathe in it, I sleep in it, and the like. While it is a beautifully designed pendant that is very different from most, my chief complaint is that the pewter began to tarnish pretty badly! From everything I've read about the metal, this is abnormal. And from all the diy cleaning suggestions, none helped. The side that's in constant contact with my body looks terrible, while the front still looks somewhat ok, though a far cry from the stunning condition it started out in. I'm so attached to it at this point, I feel replacing it with another would be sacrilege, though I wish there was a way to clean it back up.

Kabbalah Tree of Life
At first I thought it was an Islamic form of pendant pertaining to the tree of life. Kind of like Xibalba from the Mayan aspect. It turns out that it is one of Odin's pendants. We all know Odin from Thor and countless other myths. Being under a protection spell gives the wearer a peace of mind to continue wearing it and also to look for other trinkets that one can define themselves with. This is what you may call a "charm" although for me it feels authentic. It's great for me!Hector Cruzp.s. Go find something that suits you and purchase it if you like this review and are interested in such wonderful pieces.

Amazing detail in a small package.
This pendant/amulet/talisman is very small, but highly detailed and beautiful. You don't find too many hexagonal pendants like this, so it's pretty unique. A few details for the curious:1. This is NOT in any way related to Kabbalah or the Sephiroth (although the web-like design of the 9 worlds has a similar meaning). This is a set of runes and symbols from the Norse/Germanic tradition, NOT the Jewish or semitic occult tradition. It's also not an Islamic pendant, although it's easy to see why that may appear the case due to the geometric design.2. This pendant is based on the "Armanen Futhark" which are not a traditional 'viking age' rune set, but a simplified and refined set designed by the famous German mystic Guido von List in the late 1800s. There are only 18 runes in this system, rather than the 24 or more found in older rune systems. Guido von List claimed that these were the original 18 runes discovered by Odin and then handed down to the Norse people as spells of power and wisdom in the 'Havamal' chapter of the Elder (or Poetic) Edda.3. Guido von List claimed that his "Armanen" runes - the same ones you see here - are the original 18 runes that Odin described in the Havamal. List also said were revealed to him in a dream during a trance and temporary blindness resulting from a complicated eye surgery. Once he awoke and regained his sight, he was able to match those runes precisely to the meanings of the Odin runes in the Havamal.4. List, contrary to the rumors, was well aware of the Havamal and well-versed in runic texts. The Armanen were not his own creation, but a selection of runes already known from Elder and Younger Futhark, leaving out only the excess ones that didn't correspond to any of the descriptions of the 18 "power runes" in the Havamal. The meanings of the remaining runes that did correspond, stayed the same as in the old sets. Since List's time, the Armanen runes have become the most widely used Nordic magickal system, even more widespread in occult circles than the Elder Futhark, due to their precise connection with Odin's original runes.5. Like other rune sets, the Armanen runes are not simply an alphabet. They are a set of magickal symbols with powerful multiple layers of meaning, and can be used in a number of ways (contrary to a lot of the pop-psychic garbage out there, they have many other uses BESIDES divination/fortune telling - though as divination tools they are far more effective and personal that Tarot or most of astrology). They are ultimately meant to be tools of power and success.6. The Armanen runes and List are NOT fascist or 3rd Reich symbols. They are far too old, for one thing. A lot of people are very confused in this regard. Suffice it to say, Hitler and Himmler's use of runes was not even based on the Armanen, but rather on the later (and very different) rune set invented by Karl Maria Wiligut, a 1930s German occultist who was a big enemy of the Listian runeology school, and in fact influenced his boss Himmler to have several famous Listian scholars killed in concentration camps. Guido von List himself actually died in 1919, a few months BEFORE the DAP (precursor to Hitler's National Socialist party) even got founded. So please keep this in mind, don't be discouraged from buying this pendant, it's not "Nazi" jewelry and it's got nothing to do with the SS or death camps.7. You can use these runes for any purpose, however beware of using them for any negative/cursed purposes. I'm not an expert but they ARE rumored by most rune-magick practitioners to be the most powerful of all the Norse rune sets. Plus using them to cast harmful spells violates the original purpose of the runes as per Odin's account in the Havamal. They can be used in divination (with rune pebbles, or by spinning the talisman) or for incantations, exorcisms, Blots, or simply for concentrating one's energies on the vibration of the runes most suited to your current objectives in life. All 18 have important purposes in life. You don't have to be an Odinist, Pagan, Asatru` or even an occult expert to use them. Just test them out. In my view Odin was a very wise human who discovered some very important esoteric truths in these symbols, it is not necessary to worship him as a god to use the runes.8. The Armanen runes are as follows (they go in counterclockwise order), and are meant to empower you to control and positively influence the following things: Fa (wealth), Ur (healing), Thorn/Thor (strength), Os (charisma), Rit (justice), Kaun (art/genius), Hagal (protection, nurture), Not (fate/karma), Is (ego/will), Ar (fame/adventure), Sig (success/victory), Tyr (rebirth/revival), Bar (birth/safety), Laf (experience), Man (dominance), Yr (seduction), Eh (love/trust), Gibor (higher consciousness - the most difficult rune to master). All the runes have their own unique applications. The karma is rumored to be pretty intense on the six corner runes, so it's wise to refrain for using these casually for dark purposes. They have other meanings besides these as well, but that's the gist of it for the curious. The Yr rune, from my limited experience with this pendant, tends to bring you in contact with tall blond nordic-type women (nothing unusual there!) But that's after just the first day of use so there may be a lot more mysteries to it still to be discovered. Fun part is the talisman is so small that you get to wear/carry this thing pretty easily, and discover the different runes' effects on your own terms firsthand. You get all 18 after all. Also since it's so small it won't look awkward or cheesy, and this may actually make it a much better conversation piece than all those big round bulky astrology/kabbalah amulets. A real man wears something like this, because since it's so small he's obviously UNDERcompensating for something.9. There is also a larger outlined rune, Odal, at the top of the pendant, which frames the top corner of the hexagon and holds the little ring through which the necklace cord passes. Like many other runes, it has unfortunately been abused by racist groups, but the original Norse meaning is actually quite positive. Odal is technically not one of the Armanen runes, but does have a long and respected history in Norse/Scandinavian culture. It symbolizes both "noble lineage" (similar to the original usage of the word "Arya" or "Aryan" among the ancient Persians) and it also signifies inheritance, fair division of inherited property. Its use here on this talisman clearly signifies both a hope and a warning - that the Armanen Runes are the inheritance of mankind, bequeathed by Odin as precious knowledge or wealth from a father to a son - so use them CAREFULLY!If there's any downside to this item it's the fact that unlike some of the other products put out by the same shop, it doesn't come with a little pamphlet or guidebook explaining the runes and all their uses. But just google "Armanen runes" and you should be able to get some pretty decent explanations and background on this remarkable rune set.Anyone else have thoughts on this interesting object, feel free to comment :)
