Color Genesis: Inspired To Grace: Christian Coloring Books

The only thing not good about this coloring book was the fact that it had many more quotes in it than I assumed initially. My mother really enjoys coloring difficult pictures, but the pictures (although the messages were nice) did not present as great a mental challenge for her. Also, some of the backgrounds were very black. Needs more space for actual coloring.

It's half coloring book/ half journal. I bought this as a gift for my wife. I feel like I got half of what I expected considering I've bought other books for her.

I have recently started coloring for stress relief. It is nice and relaxing to sit in the evening with the family and I find that I can enjoy it more if I am coloring. For some reason I feel like if I am sitting, I need to be doing something. I ordered the Color Genesis Christian Coloring Book for this purpose. I figure that I can at least be inspired and reflect on the scripture while I am coloring. It at least makes me feel better about sitting and not accomplishing more than a colored page.The Color Genesis coloring book is what the author calls Day/Night. This means that each scripture picture has two copies. One is white with black drawing (DAY) and the other is black with white drawing (NIGHT). The NIGHT version reminds me a lot of the black velvet fuzzy posters you can buy for children. It just is not fuzzy.None of the pictures are especially complicated to color. I really like this. Who wants to be stressed out trying to color when you are doing it to relax? I have found that the DAY pictures work well with colored pencils and the NIGHT pictures really stand out with markers. Each of the pages are one-sided with a black design on the back. If you wanted to tear them out, you do not waste a picture on the back. This is definitely a plus. Also, if you use markers, you don't risk the markers bleeding through and messing up the picture on the back. I tried using markers on the NIGHT picture and could not see where any of the markers bled through. There are no marks on the black back or on the next picture. Also, the black on the NIGHT picture did not smear into my markers. Each of the pages are thicker than regular paper but not as thick as cardstock. I was so excited to get these coloring books, and I bought four of them. I got the Gospel, Psalms, Proverbs, and Genesis. I was disappointed when I got them, extremely disappointed. I got them because I been going to church for a while and I'm trying to read the Bible and learn the verses. And when I saw this I thought this would be perfect for what I need it for. The biggest problem, well there's a few actually, there's two coloring pages for each verse and the only difference is that is opposite. And it's like that all four books. When I was looking at these they were $8.99 regular regular price and if I want a coloring book it needs to have more area to color not just some blank space here, blank space there. They actually need some designs with detail. There's not very much intricate work. What I actually recommend these? I guess but they're not that great. I normally love to color but with these I was getting bored. I have a few suggestions Thor this company and they are more designs more intricate designs comma and don't repeat verses. Yeah I get that it's night and day theme but still I don't want to repeat verses I want to learn different ones. I'm so glad that I didn't pay full price. I love this thing! I was inspired to buy it because our church is doing a 16 week study of the book of Genesis. I thought it would be a fun way to share what we are learning with the kids so that they can have a fun way to connect church with home. Then the book showed up and it is so beautiful I thought of a whole different purpose. We are getting ready to sell our house, and our realtor needs us to take down our personal pictures and pictures of Jesus and probably a few of our crosses too ( we kind of have a Jesus theme going) so I was thinking these are pretty enough to color with some gel pens and frame them so that the walls don't look so bare. And honestly, no matter how much more marketable it makes the house I am not taking all "religious" items from the house. So, I can make it a little more more marketable very inexpensively and still keep the constant presence of the Lord in our house. Did i mention how beautiful they are, they have a black backing so the colors doing bleed through and the paper is nice and thick and capable of standing up to markers, gel pens or colored pencils. Truly a wonderful addition. I was so grateful to get this at a reduced rate so that I could share my opinions with others people.
