These magnets are very strong. If they feel weak you are pairing them wrong. There are 2 sets. It is very hard to see, but they are marked with a + or - on the plastic. You must match a pair of + and -. The smooth sides go together. If you try to pair two of the same they will attract and stack together, but it is much weaker. You can not just flip them over.

Strong magnets can be easily sewn into an object with a size 14 needle. Will not affect Computerized sewing machines.

The magnets are effective enough for my purpose but have had mixed results. I purchased these magnets with the intention of sewing them onto the edges of curtains that I would install around my outdoor patio. This required installing a number of magnets along each edge of the curtain that would match the magnets on the next curtain in the series. The problem that I have faced with these magnets is that the magnets have not been consistent in color or polarity. The pictures of the magnets ordered clearly depict a silvered and a bronzed face. The magnets received only appear silvered on both faces. This requires frequent checking of polarity of the current magnet to ensure proper alignment, and because some of the magnets appear to have positive polarity on one face and others have negative polarity on the same apparent face, I find that the magnets often do not match (or actively repel) the magnet on the adjacent curtain. This has made the overall process frustrating, though not impossible to manage. I suspect any project involving having multiple magnets on adjacent panels would run into similar issues, but the attraction/rejection of these magnets have felt compounded by the fact that they seem to have switched polarity midway through the stack (based on which side is enclosed over the alternate side (ie. one side shows an obvious seam that contains the edges of the opposing seam). ,

In the photo- two magnets between a finger-not that strong. I bought this to help with my husband’s putter cover. It has a thick Velcro part thinking it would be strong enough to cut a slit and insert; it did not work even when I stacked two and inserted, there was a slight stick but not enough to stay closed. Even when I removed the plastic (since I didn’t need it on the inside) This will work on thin fabric but not meant for thick fabric.

I used these magnets to make the closures for several clutch bags. They worked fine and are strong enough to attract through one layer of decent weight fabric. They were easy to sew on my machine & I don’t sew all that often. I would buy these again.

Very weak magnets. Tried using these with leather but even through the thinnest leather they would not stick together at all. Maybe for fabric, but even bare they barely stick together. Won’t buy again.
