Review: What a brilliantly accessible and informative book. It is an essential read for everyone to ensure we can all rethink what makes communication truly effective for everyone, including people with neurodivergent identities. What I love most about this book is that it put the onus onto the neuro-majority or 'allists' to simplify and be considerate when communicating, rather than expecting people with neurodivergent differences to do all the hard work! Review: Simple and practical! I highly recommend it!

Easy to read, not too detailed, perfect for a quick answer when needing a solution or answer right away. Other books are thick and takes time to read which I highly recommend and using this on the side as your quick reference guide.

This book is brilliant. Exactly what I was hoping for. A guide to the differences between neurodivergent and neurotypical communication. Thank you to the authors for your sense of humour. 🥰🥰🥰

This is very good and was recommended by a therapist for my spouse who is autism and I have ADHD. There is a lot of good in the book but I want to mention what I didn’t like. Section 1.5 needed its own entire companion book. This is one of my absolutely biggest struggle areas and it makes the assumption you can improve because you can intuitively ’notice’ the ‘difficulties’. This topic for me is so critical I just needed a lot more. Heck even a ‘real this companion text’ if you need more support on this topic. 1.12 and the notes in the back about ‘softer requests’ versus demands. To me this are telling me to do 180 degrees from each other in tandem with 1.5. I needed more clarity around how to determine which is an issue. For appendix C it should have explained WHY and how they are confusing. I don’t have any ability to understand why someone wouldn’t instantly get those and it’s not a case of ‘be like me’ it’s that I don’t understand what they are trying to convey well enough so I can modify better for someone else. Also the task 2 to look at the email. I found the rewrite less clear. Apparently many people with ADHD struggle similar to those with autism with these concepts but a subset actually have ‘taught’ themselves as a ‘hack’ (and subconsciously) to communicate with phrases to drive clarity. I find this ‘hack’ that I did not even know I did, nor do I even intuitively’notice’ that I am using a phrase, causes major issues. This could have also used WAY more content!!!
