Cyber City Oedo 808, Vol. 1-3

A pretty solid 8/10 OVA series. With that however, there are a few problems...In ep.2 there's a character who when he speaks, produces no sound. Granted he only has 1 short line, it still is a bit lazy of the people who did the VHS to DVD transfer. I seen this mention in a review of "The Final Collection" version of this so was hoping it wouldn't be a problem with this DVD; but looks like both DVD versions of Cyber City use the same exact audio track.The voice acting in this has a lot of great moments, but it also has its share of obvious lack of experience/poor direction. Also, the swearing in this is pretty unique as not many shows go to this extent, however it's occasionally overused.The Animation is pretty solid for its time for the majority of the OVA's. The overall music choice is alright, but the ending song is fitting I believe and really makes an impact for Vol.3.Another thing is that the picture used for the DVD cover in the listing differs from the actual. So, I supplied pics of what you get. Also annoying for detail freaks like me as "Data One", which is so boldly labeled on the cover, refers to Vol.1; which right under that, says all 3 Vol's so it makes literally no sense at all to even include that on the cover. Instead, remove that and make the cover look like the actual listing so that 2/3 of the main characters faces aren't unnecessarily covered by the title...Despite the spotty flaws this has tho, I very much enjoy watching these OVA's. Cyber City is certainly 1 of the best this Director has to offer and will always stay in my personal collection.

Definitely a classic Anime! Love the old school joints from the 70's up to the late 90's, and this one does not disappoint! I'd say it's a must-see for any fan of Anime. You get 3 different stories from the perspective of each of the main characters which keeps it from being dull. The DVD worked just fine when I played it, and it lit up my Saturday night. It's a cool old school animated program.

Well, To start of i Think it was really 90 s over this serie.But it wasen t bad or anything.But what i dont get is the end of the serie.But i wont tell the end but i was kinda confuisod.Becasue the end was like it wasen t a end at all.I dont now if there is a sequel or something but the story and Movie was okej.I recommend it for those who like cyberpunk animes.

So everything came as it should have. The picture quality is real good, sound is good, only complaint I might have is the disc wasn't secured inside and bounced around so it came scratched up, but it still played good so I'm happy.

This is a classic, must have for old school cyberpunk anime fans. The quality of animation is excellent, and put most modern anime to shame. In addition, the music was great, and the English dialogue has the classic, over the top profanity common during its era.

Haven't watched this in year's. So I grabbed the opportunity to buy the DVD and I wasn't disappointed. The quality of the DVD was good and I enjoyed watching every minute. Very happy with my purchase

I was intrigued by the music video to Nero's Innocence on You Tube and, after some research, found the clips to be from the final episode in this 1990 Manga trilogy. Being of the age of someone who watched 'Battle of the Planets' Ulysses 31' the FIRST time around - I found this trilogy lots of fun with a familiar animation style. The English dub has lots of adult language, so not for the very wee. Great, nostalgic fun for everyone else. Recommended.

Cyber City is one of the better examples of the cyberpunk genre. Unlike motion pictures which have serious budget or mass-market appeal issues when dealing with this subject matter, animation has a lot less of a problem in realising and presenting the dark future that Cyberpunk is all about.Cyber City tells the story of 3 criminals who are paroled to work within the police force. Kept in line by collars which could explode at anytime by their boss the series gives each characer their own story with the others acting as supporting roles in that story.Featuring great designs, great animation and superb scripts this whole package is not only great value but also great entertainment.

Sadly arrived damage. Superficial damage (mild scratches on the disc due to being dislodged within a broken case) that I could almost live with. But criminally this release does not have the excellent soundtrack by Rory McFarlane. Coupled with the damage this is unforgivable for £20. Returning.

A very poor VHS rip with hash job cover.Pirated DvDs sold, look much better than this crap.
