Beth Mazzola Summers is the granddaughter of grape growers and winemakers, whereas Jim Summers, a northeast Kansas native, knew he belonged in wine country upon his first visits. After years of traveling the back roads of Sonoma and Napa valleys, Jim fell in love with and settled on the Summers Ranch property in Knights Valley in 1987. Following a move in 1995, they expanded by purchasing a winery and vineyards in Calistoga—now known as Villa Andriana, in honor of his and Beth’s daughter. Under the direction of our Viticulturist, Winemaker and Vineyard Manager, Ignacio Blancas, our vineyards are farmed by hand in a low-impact sustainable manner. The vineyard soils and climate in combination with our grape varietals, rootstock clones and trellis system, together contribute to a dense, yet delicate richness and complexity in Summers Estate wines. Our goal is to present a true reflection of the vineyard terroir. We are proud to produce wines which reflect the quality and care we put into our Estate vineyards. “We’re a small winery,” says Jim, “And so teamwork is absolutely integral to our success or failure. I couldn’t have asked for a better team in Ignacio—this winery is as much built on his efforts as it is on mine and Beth’s,” he says. "Not only is our name on the label, but our lives, our passion, our blood, sweat and tears are inherent in every bottle." -FOUNDER JIM SUMMERS

Decent Muscat but slight aftertaste, If U can swallow price tag Jaskson-Trigg Vidal Icewine Far Superior!
It's hard to find a good muscat (muscato is NOT the same - weaker/not as sweet). I found this on a trip to Napa but 2013 not as I remembered in 2009. It has a slight alcohol/faintly bitter aftertaste that I didn't remember. If you can swallow the $ price tag, Jack son-Trigg Vidal Icewine is far better, no aftertaste! However, pretty decent for this price point.
