After seeing that KastKing released their newest model for a premium spinning reel, I knew I had to have this one. I also bought KastKing's 5' ultralight Calamus rod that matches perfectly with the reel. Premium quality that won't break the wallet!

Right out of the box I knew that I was going to love this reel. This reel is smooth as silk and light as a feather. I paired it up with a new KastKing rod- 7 Foot, 2 piece, Heavy model. The value is unbeatable. I purchased both the rod and reel right here on Amazon and received them in two days. This is going to be primarily for saltwater but it's very versatile and can be used in just about every scenario with the right braid line.

Took this reel out for the first time today, and as expected it worked flawlessly. Smooth, drag worked well, casted like it should. Paired it up with my new KastKing Blackhawk II and it makes for a great, lightweight setup to keep in the car or throw in a backpack and ride my bike to a local pond, which is what I did today. I love my Sharkey III, but this being a little lighter makes it great for a portable setup. Only minor “flaw” would be I like the handle on the Sharkey III a little better, but that’s just a personal preference and nothing wrong with the reel. Really happy with this purchase, but I have been with everything I’ve bought from KastKing so it doesn’t come as a surprise.

This reel has been working out great. I am always saltwater fishing in the inlet and creeks in the kayak. I’m using the 3000 series reel fishing for redfish, trout, flounder, drum, & sheepshead. I was looking for a saltwater reel in my budget that would withstand weekly trips out on the water and had the strength to fight some big redfish.

Got this to pair with the kast king speed demon pro jig/worm rod, the combo is great!I went with the 2000 size, for large mouth it's perfect. I was unsure of the handle on these but after a bunch of 3-4# bass with some spunk I've learned to really like it.Highly recommended!

I got the reel in the mail and was extremely impressed with the packaging. I opened the box and was very satisfied as far as the quality of reel and how smooth it feels to reel it. The reel looks awesome and I love the color!! The anti-reverse switch worked great and felt very nice with a good click. However on day 2, for no reason at all the anti-reverse switch just stopped clicking in place and just wobbles back and forth. It still engages and disengages but if you shake the reel the switch will wobble out of each setting.I already had it spooled so sending it back, in the end will cost me money and time so i'll just have to deal with it being broken. I used a piece of gorilla tape to tape it over to be always in anti-reverse. But beware, if this is important to you I would look for another reel.I really like this reel as far as how smooth it is and the bail action is great. It fishes fine and i really enjoyed reeling in lures with it. It looks awesome and matches my Kastking Resolute rod (which I absolutely LOVE!) However this reel tends to get a ton of line twist if you have it full of line so don't load it up to capacity with line!Pros:- Looks awesome- super smooth to reel- sturdy bail- awesome gripCons:- Anti-Reverse Switch broke before i could use the reel- Bad line twisting issue if spool is almost full full (not even overfull)

Overall solid $50 reel with truly smooth drag comparable to $100+ reels. Took off the reel handle and did some oiling as I do with all reels fresh out of box. Very impressed with the weight and durable rotor along with it's rotating speed 6.2 to 1. Will update on casting distances and drag performance by the spring 2019 season. Tight Lines! - David

Excelent quality reel. Very smooth action, Very fast retrival rate. Line spools on very evenly and cast off spool smothly from patented spool design. Drag is very nice and smooth. Nice looking reel, beats out my Shimano reel in quality abd is far less exornsive. Highly recommend. My 1st KastKing reel. My dad collected hundreds and hundreds of reels and was impressed, then shocked to see the low cost..Had one issue with reel, KastKing customer service was friendly fast and immditley resolved issue by replacing with a new one!, All I needed was a oart. Very satisfied customer, KasKing rocks.
