My daughter wanted one similar to this but I didn’t think it looked that great. I found this one and it’s wonderful. It’s pretty and it’s well made.She’s going to love it when she opens her gifts tomorrow!

The book is fabtastic the pages are a nice soft thick paper. With real leather bound binding. 10 for 10. Very noice

Additionally the lock design was not what was shown in the image and it seems like they're kind of randomized. Also, the lock isn't flush with the cover, which could lead to problems if you plan on taking it anywhere. Lastly, the first page had marks on it from the metal rivets used to hold the lock tab in place. Despite all that though, I'm really impressed with the quality. It feels like real leather, the dye looks really good, it feels incredibly sturdy (if a little stiff but likely just for the moment until I break it in more). The paper is very smooth and decently thick, perfect sketchbook material. Not to mention it's quite big! I was honestly expecting a little handbook, but this is a pretty decent size while still being somewhat portable.

Wouldn’t say it’s great for total privacy, as you can kind of see from the top what’s written inside, but this is a very nice, cool journal. Great leather smell and is a nice size

I've already started writing in it, I absolutely love it.The pages ARE NOT lined, incase you're reading this in hopes to find out a little more info about the product.I wasn't expecting it to have lines, however I was surprised at how large it was. I know the size is in the description but I've had problems in the past with stuff not being accurate (clothes, posters, bottles and such..) -so in short it was a pleasant surprise to see an actual NICELY sized leather bound journal. The lock is super handy- and it comes with two keys, incase you lose one, and the lock itself has a cute little engraving on it, and the pages do AMAZING With gel or fountain pens, no smudges- no smearing- and NO BLEEDING THROUGH THE PAGES!I know the jornal isn't the type you can refill with paper when you're done- and that's fair, in a personal opinion, I would rather buy another one of these instead of a paper refill that way the 1st one stays locked and secure, and I can continue writing without the hassle of keeping track of a loose book, I mean- if you pay for something to have a lock on it- the intention is to keep whatever is inside- safe.But to make a long story short, I didn't think that when I bought this item would be making it into a tiny diary/scrapbook, but it works out well. I tape in Polaroids I take and write about it/draw/ sketch pictures in it.

This really is a pretty journal. Not super sturdy, but for the price it is nice. There are a lot of pages and the lock seems decent enough. Someone could flex the cover and read part of the pages if they wanted to. An additional hard cover would make it harder to read. The color is pretty the pattern and stitching are as well. I wish there were lines on the pages, but it's not a deal breaker. The lock was stored between pages upon shipment and put black marks on 2 pages. It was a bit of a bummer but not a big deal. Overall, I'm happy with the purchase.

I absolutely LOVE this journal, diary, or whatever. I am an artist so will use this for drawing and adding personal private notes. I solved the problem of being able to look at the writing by taking a 300 lb piece of watercolor paper and folding it over and around the leaves. Of course someone could remove it, but it would be obvious. Also, I don’t store it in an easily noticeable spot. I love how flat it lays. The paper is organic looking but very smooth. Exceptional product which zi will buy again. I will not refill it. I will buy another and keep this forever. I put one lock on my key ring but another on a different location.

I believe this is the 6th Jaal journal I have purchased. I like the larger, 10 inch size for my art journalling. Usually that size of leather bound journal is much more expensive. I have purchased a couple of journals, which looked similar but were not made by Jaald and though slightly cheaper, I found the quality of the paper inside was very poor. The paper in Jaald journals however has a smooth surface which takes oxide inks, spray inks, Dylusion paints, paint and gel pens without bleed through. The paper also has sufficient weight to support collage. This makes these journals excellent for art journalling. I prefer the natural leather coloured covers but bought this one because the price was such a bargain. I will in future only buy my journals from Jaald as I can trust their quality.

This is gorgeous book, ideal for a journal. The pages are thick and smooth- no scratchy sensation when you write, even with pencil or a basic biro. I love how it is made up of different signatures. My only niggle was that the padlock is delivered tucked inside the journal, so there is a deep dent left in several pages. It won't stop me ordering more of these, though. It's bigger than A5 and well worth the money for the quality.

This notebook is a thing of beauty. I bought it for someone about to go to University and she loves it. The pages are blank and can be used by a budding artist or for someone wanting to write notes, a diary - anything, really! I bought the recipient a 5-year diary several years ago but the lock was flimsy at best. This nicely crafted book comes with a proper padlock and key. This makes a neat gift for many of those people it's hard to buy for!

Beautiful cover and great size, but disappointingly every page of the first insert was folded over, stained green and dented by the rivets. There are also yellow stains intermittently throughout the remainder of the book. I’m so disappointed, this was picked by my 12 year old as a gift for his dad, and we are going to have to see if we can get a refill to replace the damaged one, as we don’t have time to return it. The price is great- but not if you have to pay extra to fix a problem!

I have found these journals excellent for art journalling. The paper has taken inks, acrylic paints and pens very well. Nicely bound in leather, the product is very reasonably priced for such excellent quality.
