To the point and useful
I have found this book incredibly useful. Yes the narrative and explanations are streamlined and elegant to understand the rationale for adopting the approach to health. I adopted the Choose You Now program and have healthfully dropped 17 pounds. The restricted eating/feeding window has worked out well and my body has adapted nicely. My blood work in recent testing has improved. The reality is we just don’t need as much food as we have convinced ourselves we ‘need.’ The biggest obstacle to success is navigating a toxic food climate and social situations where other’s are over-invested in what I do or do not eat. This is a sustainable way of living. I enjoyed Healthspan Solution but this gets more yo the point. The recipes are great as in Cheesy Hash brown Bake, Mushroom Cauliflower, and Red Lentil Chili. As a psychologist who worked 9 years in bariatrics I find this to be credible information grounded in research from an established professional who produces research and scolsrly writing herself.

As a healthcare professional, I think this approach could help my patients live healthier lives and I actualize the principles personally. Been WFPB for almost 4 years but struggled with weight loss. This book has some good insight and information!

Simplicity and Plants Lead to Results
My husband and I are following the tenets and watching the pandemic pounds melt off (half a pound a day as predicted).I feel empowered making my own food again rather than relying on frozen meals. My favorites are the coleslaw potato salad and burrito bowl.Everything in this book resonates with me. I had a mindshift with monotony - how many of us have started a diet where we have labored in the kitchen to make oodles and oodles of dishes? When Hever advised to make one or two dishes, a spark ignited and I dove right into what this book was selling.It sounds like these ideas have been sold in other books (at least two in collaboration with Cronise, so I assume he has a working and trusted relationship with the author, which makes all of the accusations of plagiarism baffling), but the layout and design of this one caught my attention. DK publishing creates beautiful books, which is embodied in this print edition.

From Lauren Daniels- A Gastronomic Delight!
Julieanna is a true gem! Her knowledge and insight on TRUE health is unparalleled. And her recipes?? OUTSTANDING! Trust me when I tell you this. I have tried many Whole Food Plant Based No Oil recipes from numerous authors, and none of them compare to Julieanna’s. In all of her recipes, each ingredient is perfectly paired with all of the other ingredients to create the PERFECT combination, PERFECT flavor profile! I am in pure amazement each time I make one of her recipes! This is coming from a true foodie who has converted from the Standard American Diet to WFPBNO. The conversion would NOT have happened without access to Julieanna’s AMAZING recipes. My mind, spirit, and body (including my taste buds!) could not be happier! I am forever grateful!❤️

Frustrated
FRUSTRATEDI thought it was something new, well some of the recipes are... the Korean Summer Rolls that people are raving about are Ray’s as well - it’s a recipe to try once a client is finished with his “wait loss” phase. Perhaps the rest are original or maybe they are lifted from somewhere else? Like a few of the other reviewers, I too have lost 100 lbs with Ray Cronise. I have been coached through the mentally/emotionally tough parts of a fast weight loss program.Ray's personal scientific research on himself helped him understand what’s happening with all of us, but more importantly, Ray has been overweight and that helps him personally relate why we do what we do with food. You’re getting a watered down version of Ray's program, the way it's presented here seems harmful and wasteful. A couple of people might succeed and that’s the diet industrys track record. Using Ray's program in the way this author does seems plagiaristic on the surface, then falls flat without the remainder of his support and context. You can see his work with Penn Jillette's book Presto (as humor not advice) and as one other person commented - he gives Ray credit for his work. There are also mountains of podcasts he's been interviewed on. There is a difference.It’s worth noting that a search on both of their names will reveal many interviews with the author’s praise for his work. Why praise him so much when they worked together and somehow “forget” to give him attribution now? Shouldn’t we expect something new in this breakout solo work? Perhaps they count on no one noticing. I had to speak up.
