An excellent, affordable protein bar for people on the move.
I've tried many different varieties of protein bars - everything from Clif bars to Power Bars to various Nature Valley and other offerings, and I prefer this bar above all the rest. My quest has been to find a bar that has a large amount of protein, little sugar, relatively few calories, which is very affordable, and which is relatively shelf-stable and sturdy so that it will still be intact when I need it. Another constraint that might seem strange is that I wanted something that was very edible and good-tasting, but not delicious, so that I wouldn't be tempted to eat them except when I'm actually hungry. This bar is perfect for all of those criteria. I usually buy them at a grocery store, for basically the same price as they are sold on Amazon, but occasionally I get them here if my local store is out. At ~$1 per bar, I consider these a much better value than other offerings, and moreover far more nutritional per calorie compared to other offerings. (Clif Bars' Builder Bars, for example, also have ~20 grams of protein, but have as many as 2x the calories of this bar, cost 2-3x as much, and are no more filling in my opinion). Substituting these in for less nutritional, less filling, and less affordable other snacks has helped me maintain a healthy weight without breaking the bank. I take them backpacking, eat them for meals/snacks if time is tight, and keep a couple in my daily bag for a rainy day.

Taste Great for a Protein Bar
People this isn't a snickers or hersheys bar.... Its a protein bar and it taste like one, but its really good for a protein bar. I have tasted many others and this is my favorite. I tried the Smores and the Chocolate chip and I wanted to choke... Those were awful. I now just buy these peanut butter ones. 20 g of protein for only 200 calories - does not have 180 like the picture says. At 200 cal and 20g of protein you cant ask for much more. I have tried to find other bars with 20g of protein and they are all higher in calories.... No thanks. Many times i'll eat 1/2 for 100 cal and 10g of protein for a little snack. I no longer buy granola bars filled with sugar. These are chewy not crunchy. Put in fridge, I think they taste better from the fridge compared to a room temp box in the pantry. I always have 2-3 in the fridge and replace as I eat them. They are dense and do keep you full for a while. Some days I'll grab an apple or banana and one of these bars and I am good to go until lunch. They have other flavors, but after the disgusting smores and chocolate chip bars, I'll save my money and stick with these or try to find them at a local store first where I can buy one to taste and not be stuck with 2 boxes. And last..... Hello.... They are less than 80 cents for each bar when you use subscribe and save... 9 dollars for two boxes... Hell yeah :)

Arrived in great condition, very tasty
I'm honestly not a fan of protein bars. They all taste like cardboard or mud to me, but my mother absolutely loves these. She munches on them constantly and insists they taste amazing. She loves that they're so dense and filling. I'm just pleased with the speed of arrival and the quality. I live on an island, and the humidity destroys pretty much everything. Any food I purchase has to be triple bagged and locked in sealed containers, and even then, it's usually all stale or ruined within a week. Most of the time, in fact, food purchased from stores ARRIVES stale and ruined. It's a serious problem, and there have been too many occasions when I've purchased these same protein bars and found them stale when I opened the box the same day of purchase. These bars, though, arrived within two days, even to my little island, where shipping always takes three or four days longer than it does to anywhere else. They were fresh, not melted, and wrapped so well in plastic that I didn't have to bag them as much. Several days later, they're still good. The price was also a little better than what I could find in stores, and since I ordered enough to qualify for free shipping, I'm doubly pleased. I'll be ordering these again.

Good Bar, Good Source of Protein in a snack
For those of you who has acquired some knowledge on protein diet to lose weight or gain muscle, please know that this is ONLY A SUPPLEMENT - NOT FOOD PROTEIN. If you really want the purest form of protein, eat egg whites or lean meat (Chicken/Turkey Breast, Beef, etc). Ok, that being said, you cannot carry eggs around, that's where this bar comes into picture. It has excellent amount of protein (20g) and low carbohydrate. It tastes absolutely delicious. I have always used (about 4-5 bars in a week) DeTour and Myoplex Protein bars. Detour has about 30g and Myoplex has about 25g of protein but their carb content is higher as well, and so is the calories. I am trying to lose weight, so I am watching both proteins and carbs, also doing cardio 5 times a week. I am not a nutritionist, but I am pretty sure the contents of these protein bars contain mono-saturated fats, which is not so good for our health. So, limit the use of these products as much as you can. Also, it has whey and sugar alcohols (sugar replacement), which can upset stomach for some people. I had that trouble with Detour but got used to it. The important thing is that you drink atleast 8 fl oz of water while taking this. Also, please limit your intake of these bars to 1 per day due to sugar alcohol presence. Recently, I have done a lot of research and it's best to eat whole grains and vegatables/lean meat to lose weight, instead of taking supplements. Good luck to you all, I think these 12 bars will last me atleast 3 weeks. I took one star off just because I do not want to encourage myself or anyone else to get addicted to these bars. Otherwise, it tastes just like a chocolate.

Best Bang of Great Tasting Protein For Your Buck on Amazon
I've been eating protein bars for years as a meal replacement supplement (please no comments on my diet habits please! :) and these do the job. As advertised: low sugar, high protein, nutritious and DELICIOUS. I love candy bars and I happily replace that craving with these (sometimes). What I am at work and forgot my lunch, or just want to skip a meal to slim down a little, these work perfectly. They leave you feeling FULL after one... You also can't beat the price. I used to be a Quest Bar fan and Pure Proteins price and taste won me over. It's not going to give you all the vitamins you need - you can't live off of these - but you can use it for that extra burst of protein that won't leave you hungry for more (even though the taste will...) Satisfies cravings, can replace a meal, and the taste makes you want more. One of the main things I order regularly... (Who has time to grab these at GNC or elsewhere when you can fall back on the convenience of Amazon in it's Prime!

It's protein, it doesn't taste terrible
I eat a lot. a LOT. This somewhat curbs my afternoon snacking mode during work hours. I purchased it with some skepticism towards these glowing reviews making it sound like this will taste close to a snickers bar. My skepticism was warranted. It's got a strange... peanut butter with mini chunks kind of texture. It does NOT taste good. It does NOT taste awful. It's just protein to curb my hunger instead of completely empty calories. The price works out pretty nicely compared to what you'd end up paying individually at a convenience store. I can't imagine the other flavors will have much improvement, but may try once I get sick of the taste down the road. I would probably buy again out of necessity

Nearly perfect, but date dependent.
These bars meet all my requirements for a perfect protein bar. They are cheap, tasty, low in carbs, and they use whey protein. Unfortunately, after going through probably 25 boxes of these, I have run into my first issue. The "best by" date is a joke, and Amazon will ship you bars that are stale. The boxes will normally have a "best by" date of about 8-12 months after purchase. As long as you maintain this 8-12 month window, they taste fantastic. They are very soft and taste like low-sugar brownies. Today I received a box that is dated for 3 months from now, and the bars are awful. They are so hard that I can barely even chew them, and they taste mediocre. I don't know if this issue lies on Amazon or Pure Protein's end, but why are they not shipping out the oldest boxes first?
