Monster Box is full of value, fun, strategy, and replay variety!
King of Tokyo base game is easy enough for family with kids 8+, but with enough strategy to keep adults brains fully engaged. Add the game features of Costume Cards and Power Up Evolution Cards, separately or together, and King of Tokyo goes from cute and silly to brutal and demanding! Set up time is just a few minutes. The rules can be a little tricky for the first game or two, then become second nature. My girlfriend and I are in our sixties, and this game makes us feel like kids! Crazy fun for three to six players, but two can have a blast when each player has two monsters. I love:*The price!*Spacious box with molded insert that stores everything neatly.*The artwork.*The clever and useful dice rolling tray.*The mix-and-match game mechanics.*Extra room in box if you buy Monster Pack expansions (which I'm sure I will).*Monster packs (purchased separately) that add new game mechanics and a new monster in every pack.

Everyone We've Played This with Loves It
Our friends had this game and we played it with them. We immediately fell in love with it and had to get our own copy of it. It's easy to learn and fun to play, with a few different tactics you can use to try to win. Everyone we play it with tells us they can't wait to play it again. We have played this so many times and we don't get bored. It takes about 20-25 minutes to play with 3-5 people. It's much faster (and honestly not as fun) with only two people. It only takes a few minutes to learn how to play, as well. Compared to many of the more complicated games we play, this is a nice change.

Monster fun ;)
The picture is in another language yes, lol, I forgot to take a picture of the one I bought before I wrapped it so this is the copy I found in Belgium. It was a gift for my boyfriend who wanted an English copy. Got it on sale when it was 40! It’s amazing quality, will keep you entertained for hours, and was really easy to learn. We loved the cooperative strategy instead of most games which constantly make you go against each other. Definitely a game to add to your wish list!

King of Tokyo for Two!!!
We just got this game and dove right in. I absolutely love King of Tokyo and have all the games and expansions, plus some. So when I saw this, I had to pre-order it. This is a two player game that involves a tug of war aspect where you are pushing and pulling two icons "Fame and Destruction" towards your goal. There are several ways to win/lose the game. The game has a smaller form factor that can be easily taken on the go. The game heavily relies on the special cards available and energy gathering. These duels are meant to take about 20-30 minutes per session. Our first game took almost 2 hours, this included reading the instructions, going back to certain special rules and my wife is very strategic and took quite a bit of time during the dice rolls and card purchase selections. When cards were purchased and introduced, we had a long battle take place with moving the icons back and forth. My wife ended up finally beating me, by pulling the fame icon into her winning circle. I'll get her next time! There are also some interesting buff tokens that you place and re-arrange on the board when indicated. Lots of variation and replayability with this game. It also comes with some stickers that you use when you complete certain challenges in the game. We managed to unlock two of these on our first game. Thanks to Richard Garfield and IELLO games for another great entry into the Kaiju Monster Battle Arena known as King of Tokyo! We love it!

Uniquely great!
My favorite aspect of this game is the age range that can play and enjoy it. It has enough strategy and complexity and Decision-making that adults can completely enjoy Playing it with other adults or mixed with kids. But the choices are also uniform enough and simple enough And there is enough luck involved that young children Can play it and beat adults (sometimes). My 3-year-old can legitimately play and compete in this game with minimal assistance. It's also pretty cool looking. And the power cards you get to buy add enough variety that it has a pretty good Amount of replayability. Buy this now!

Tug a war King of Tokyo
Great 2 player game, games can be fast, quick or take a while, the dice determine the outcome. Hard to have a strategy since the dice determine what you can do. Fun game for fans of the original

Great jump start
I started playing KoT when it first came out but I never bothered to buy a copy. Good thing too because this Monster box is awesome. It comes with 10 monsters total and includes both the Halloween and powerup expansions and the baby Gigazaur promo. There are also power up cards for Cyber Bunny and Kraken from the OG release which is a nice addition. I definitely recommend this set.

Fun Family Co-op game
Bought this for my 11 year olds birthday. We do family game night once a week and we enjoy adding in new game varieties from time to time.We like Pokémon, magic cards, D&D, various poker games, Mario Party, various traditional boardgames like Monopoly, etc…However my youngest kiddo, the 11 year old, loves co-op games but D&D loses his interest because it is a little too intricate and time consuming for him just yet. However, he does well with games like Arkham Horror, so we thought this game might be a good fit for him and we were right! Now to be warned the first time you play it will be slow going because you are trying to figure out how it works. We ended up doing a google search for a YouTube video to explain the rules and this was extremely helpful. But once we get the hang of it, the game is super fun. You really have to work together and be creative with your strategic approach to defeat the attacking monster. Most times we’ve played we have managed to win but sometimes the monster defeats us, but it’s always a great time.May not be a game the everyone would like, but if you are into cooperative games and you’re looking for a family friendly version, then this is likely a great option for you. Have fun!
