This is a decent camera for the price. However, one battery lasts slightly less than an hour. Luckily, it comes with two batteries. It's just mildly annoying that you may have to stop in the middle of filming to swap batteries. Other than that it's a great little camera for a beginner.

I ordered this because I don't like recording things for very long on my phone because it takes up alot of space. My wife makes fun of me whenever I use it, saying that I look like a dad from the 90s/early 2000s but I don't care lol. I've used it to film my wife and 2 kids on a parachute being towed by a boat as well as recorded a couple of my sons baseball games, so I could send it to the coach so he could see what needed to be worked on. The night vision is a really cool feature on it. There are a couple of issues with the video camera that I've found or came across. One is that the zoom isn't all that great in both the distance it zooms(or it's zoom capability)and the picture quality once zoomed. The picture quality over all is pretty good but 4k it is not. Another issue, which to me is a big one is that the battery does not last very long at all. During one of my son's baseball tournament games, I had the camera set up on a Tripod and hit record once the game started and let it record instead of stopping it in between batters or whatever. Even tho I was letting it record, I was monitoring the battery life because just in case it didn't last the whole game, I had brought the 2nd/spare battery that it had came with. The first battery died after about 30 mins, so I threw in the 2nd one which also died in about 30 mins. I wasn't even able to record the whole game with the two batteries which is pretty sad because these are only 5 inning games.

The bottom line is the cam is so cheap because it is not very good. The video quality is extremely poor. I tested it at 1080p with various lighting, and although it seemed to get slightly better with brighter and brighter lighting, it didn't improve much. The camera was also always out of focus and somewhat blurred.I also really wish the description made it clear that the "face recognition" was not available when the camera is in video mode. Face recognition only works when using this as a still camera.I see that people have a problem with memory cards. Basically you hit the mode button, then settings, then you push down until you get to the next screen of options, which has the memory card formatting tool, but I kind of wish I didn't figure this out because hitting a brick wall like that would have kept me from wasting my time testing the camera to try and get a better video quality.The built-in microphone is also horrendously low.This is not a good camera. You probably a better camera on your phone.

This is a dangerous product and “Amazon” should not sell this product. Thank God, I was able to get this item outdoors before it caught fire: BEWARE of this product. This is he first time I have had any real problems with products sold by Amazon. This could have been much worse.

I purchased two (2) SD cards that were U3 but they did not work. (1 from you and 1 from Best Buy. Everytime they read "Card Error."I gave it 3 months to get to work, so I would like to return it after many tries.Thank You, Lucille Jadwin
