You just saved yourself $129 dollars from the coffee shop, Tex.
This French press is simple, compact, and makes an excellent cup of coffee. The 12oz size is perfect for one or two servings, and the design is straightforward—just coffee, hot water, and a few minutes of steeping for a rich, flavorful brew. The glass carafe feels sturdy, and the plunger filters well without letting grounds slip through. Cleanup is quick, which makes it easy to use every day without feeling like a hassle. Affordable, reliable, and easy to use—an ideal French press for daily coffee at home or even to take along for travel.

BODUM customer service went above and beyond.
SECOND UPDATE: Now I've changed my rating to five stars--and I'd give more if I could. BODUM customer service went above and beyond. They actually did not send me the replacement part I requested. Instead, they sent me four brand new BODUM French presses! I've reached out to see if that was a mistake and they want me to return three. I've always loved BODUM French presses. My broken part was really quite an anomaly. First update: I've changed my rating to four stars, because I was able to get through to BODUM customer support and they say they will be sending me a replacement part soon. I've bought these before and like them a lot, so I thought I was getting a good product this time too. Oddly, the "press" part of this one--not the glass-- broke. Actually split in the middle. Makes it hard to get it into the pot. Never had that happen before. Unfortunately, the Amazon return window on this item closed a week ago. But fortunately, reaching out to BODUM directly worked. I should get the new part in a week or so.

Used Properly, It’s Fine
I was using the pour-over filter method to make a single cup of coffee (using the Kalita Wave filters) and it made a fine, rich cup. But I got tired of standing over the cup for long minutes while I poured the water into the filter bit by bit, so I thought I’d try this. Well, it took some adjustment, but I finally found a way to make an acceptable, and sometimes excellent, cup. The key is to let the coffee steep for AT LEAST 10 MINUTES. It will still be hot. You also have to grind the coffee appropriately—I use #30 on the Baratza burr grinder. It isn’t as reliable as the pour-over method, but the tradeoff of ease for reliable quality is worth it.

Worked great twice then started leaking
Works well for exactly 1 12oz cup of coffee. Kept the coffee warm as well as any other French press and was easy to operate. Coffee tasted as it always does. Easy to press & easy to pour. Cute & takes up less counter space than full size French presses. No complaints, however, one word of caution. Arrived new but not boxed, it arrived wrapped in bubble wrap, which may affect decision if purchasing as a gift. UPDATE: Unfortunately it worked great twice then started leaking when pouring because the plunger wouldn't go down far enough so the plastic lid was raised a bit and the coffee escaped when pouring. I hand washed it only, no dishwasher but it still leaked after 2 uses. On a more positive note, we have this same brand in a larger size with a metal lid & it consistently works great. We've had that one at least 6 months. No problems.

Upped my coffee making game!
I've been drinking a certain brand of coffee at home by the drip method through an unbleached filter but the taste didn't match up to when I drank the same brand in a coffee shop. That was until I bought this French Press. What a difference!! It keeps the grinds out of the cup once poured because the metal filter is so fine and really allows the taste to develop. Here are a few tips: don't boil the water to 212 degrees fahrenheit (I set my kettle to 200 degrees). Wet the grinds (30 secs). Add the water then put the lid on, lowering the filter to sit on top of the coffee. Let sit for around 4 mins then ever so slowly press the filter to the bottom of the glass beaker. If you feel a lot of resistance, wait a bit longer before gently pour a delicious brew!

My favorite French press
I’ve loved this little French press! It’s easy to use and wash, not difficult to assemble, and has been very durable. I’ve been using it for months and it makes delicious easy coffee. I love the small and sleek design—it’s very easy to store. Highly recommend!

Good but not for clumsy people
I use a French press in the fridge overnight to make coffee for the following morning. I don’t do it often but I use it whenever I don’t feel like spending 5$+ on store bought coffee. I had a different brand before and cracked it while washing it. I’ve had this one for about 9 months and was washing it and dropped it from about two inches onto a ceramic sink. It cracked down the side and is now unsafe to use. Overall the product is good but for someone who drops dishes easily while washing them I think I need to find a different solution.

I’ve been using this French press for over a year now, twice daily, and it’s held up incredibly well. The quality is fantastic—solid, durable, and easy to clean. Bodum truly sets the gold standard when it comes to French presses, and this one doesn’t disappoint. The 34-ounce size is perfect for making a couple of mugs of coffee each time, and the borosilicate glass carafe ensures no flavor is compromised. Honestly, I wouldn’t consider buying any other brand! Highly recommend this for anyone looking for a top-notch French press.
