A good soil amendment for indoor and outdoor plants. Adds nutrients and mycorrhizae.
I grow almost all our veggies and herbs indoors in our large two room basement garden. I have been amending my potting soil with coco coir, perlite, and two sizes of vermiculite to increase water retention and drainage. Although I have looked into buying compost to add to my soil, I had not found one that I trusted for indoor growing until this one. To save on costs, I often re-use the soil when plants are disposed of. As for outdoor gardening, this means adding nutrients and enriching soil that had been used for previous plants. This compost is advertised as being all natural and containing endo and ecto mycorrhizae (two types of fungi that have a symbiotic relationship with plants to promote root and plant growth). All this sounds great, but, really, "the proof is in the pudding" so to speak. This compost is dry and light weight. I started adding it to my used soil and also to my amended potting soil. I have to say, the difference in the plants with this compost added is very noticeable. My tomato plants have been more productive, and the tomatoes have been larger. The zucchini plants produce more and larger fruits and the plants look very healthy. All of the plants producing veggie greens are large and healthy. Although this compost isn't inexpensive, it is well worth the costs considering the results. I do recommend this compost whether you are growing indoors or outdoors, and believe you will be pleased with the result you see in healthy, productive plants. I have included pictures of some of the plants I grow indoors, many of which are as old as 5 years. I hope this review was helpful for you.

Disappointed by purchase! (Updated)
Updated Review 4/30/21: I contacted the seller and sent them pictures of what I actually received. They checked with Espoma and determined that perlite was accidentally mixed in. The seller's customer service was very prompt and professional and they even refunded my money. I appreciated all of their help. The second order with them I had no issues. So between the customer service and my second order, I'm updating my review to five stars. Original Review: I normally have had no problem with Espoma products and frequently purchase them. However, I ordered four bags of Land and Sea Compost with plans to top-dress my 4x8ft raised garden. I ordered this product about a month ago waiting for the weather to get better to apply it and it sat in the box until today. I have a smaller raised bed and feared I had not ordered enough so I bought another bag from the same seller. While putting on the first four bags, I thought... wow, this is strange there is a lot of perlite in here. I also thought it looked a lot like the regular potting mix which I also purchase. I double-checked the bag to make sure it was the correct product. The bag said Land and Sea Compost. I hadn't used this before, so thought maybe it contained perlite (although I questioned why the soil was fluffy) and I didn't know it. Well, that was until I opened the bag that I recently purchased for the other raised bed. It was a darker color and contained no perlite at all. It also seemed more like compost. I'm not sure if bags were re-used and then sealed again with the potting mix in them, or if there was a mix-up at the factory. But, I definitely put regular potting mix on my raised bed and not the Land and Sea Compost that I ordered. I bought five bags total from this seller and four of the five were not the correct item, even though the bag said they were.

Wonderful compost
While expensive it really helps to grow amazing plants! Just disappointed that it arrived sliced open and messily taped up. For the amount of money spent I should have received an undamaged bag. So while I would like to give it 5 stars only giving it 4.
Q**!
Important for proper plant development
This stuff is a must have for your plants! I'm not able to buy it local, so I'm glad to be able to order it from Amazon!
