Nice but Some Glaring Scenarios
I enjoyed the first two volumes & will give #4 a chance but a few issues I noticed were so unbelievable as to give minimal credibility to real life & should have been addressed if not by the author then by her editors. Firstly, this sounds petty, but Julie was from Atlanta & got no alimony from her long term cheating husband. Georgia has laws about cheating & alimony! Julie was explicitly po’d enough about her ex to really go after this, especially discovering he had a secret home in Boston but weirdly gave up her comfortable country club life & assets to live in a derelict home in book #1. In book 3, Coleen is an attorney - and 21! Is she a child prodigy who started her undergrad at 14? If so, great! Where did all that motivation go as she seems to swap jobs often, 3 jobs + 2 different bar exams (never mentioned) in book 3 alone. Janine, the world traveler, who can’t afford even a car, whose worldly possessions fit with room to spare in a suitcase is able to open & finance a yoga studio? Lastly, Meg got a full ride to a French university? What French university does this for American kids? Most definitely fiction read , to the point of unbelievable.

Book 3
I absolutely loved Book 1 and Book 2, both 5 Stars for me.In this 3rd book, Julie's youngest daughter Meg shows up and pretty much takes over the story. These days, I rarely read books wherein the leading female character is a young girl. Meg is 19 and pretty much acts like a 19 year old.Since Meg is only a part of this series, of course I was going to read this book. I adore all of the other characters and their stories are continuing while Meg's is just starting. But as the book unfolded the character Meg affected all but one of the characters in some form or fashion - truly making this book a struggle to get through. I will finish this series at some point, but for right now, this character has derailed it for me. Unfortunately, I can only give the 3rd installment 3 Stars.

Great book
Fireflies & Family Ties: South Carolina Sunsets Book 3 is by Rachel Hanna. This book is wonderful and keeps you reading until finished. The characters and conflicts are very realistic and true to life. Her writing has few if any distasteful terms and no graphic sex scenes to disrupt the story. There is some repetition for explanation as to what happened in previous books; but it is kept to a bare minimum.Meg comes to Seagrove Island from Europe. It seems she has broken up with her boyfriend who is somewhat older. Julie is happy that she had broken with him; but very sad that her daughter is so upset and depressed. Luckily, her older daughter, Colleen, has found a job with an attorney in Charleston and has found an apartment close to her work. That leaves room for Meg at the small house. Julie has broken off with Dawson because she thinks he is also in some type of relationship with Tiffany from his graduating class. She saw them together but failed to talk to Dawson about Tiffany so he has no idea why she has broken off their friendship. Meanwhile, Janine who had opened her own Yoga studio, has discovered the truth about Meg’s depression. Meg is pregnant and left Christopher in France because he could lose his job as a professor if the news got out that he had impregnated a student even if she wasn’t in his class. She hadn’t told Christopher she was pregnant and hadn’t told anyone here in South Carolina. Janine realized it when she hugged Meg when she came home. All the failure to communicate between people really causes problems on Seagrove Island.
