Pelleted Carbon
This pelleted carbon works well in my Fluval canister filter trays and I put extra in the bags on my Tetra Whisper 60 filters also. Keeps the water clear and the fish healthy! Great price too!

Good carbon. This is NOT for clearing up green water.
I used this product for a small outdoor pond and it worked well. There was not much carbon dust at all present, but I still pre-rinsed it prior to applying it to my pond. When used in a pond, the product should be placed in an area of high flow like the waterfall filter or the skimmer box. I've seen a few negative reviews left by people who said that it did nothing to clear up their green water. Of course it didn't. Carbon does NOT get rid of green water. Your green water is caused by phytoplankton blooms. Lowering nitrates, phosphates and dosing beneficial bacteria (which outcompetes phytoplankton) is how you get rid of green water.

Awesome value!
I am using this in a potting soil mix and I love the larger coarse size to help with drainage. As another reviewer stated, it would be a good idea to crush these up for use in aquarium filters/ odor removal etc. More surface area and all of that. The price is unbeatable!!

Activated Carbon For Aquariums
I recently purchased a canister filter for my 75 gallon aquarium and planned on using bio media and carbon as on additive for water stank and clarity. This is indeed, just a 5lb bag of extruded carbon. What's nice is that it comes in a big mesh bag, maybe for a sump? The quality seems good and it's definitely a smarter buy then the API activated carbon because, at the end of the day you can't really do much to enhance it beyond the fact that it is just a very pourous, oder removing, water clarifying chemical. A negative that I did have with this product is that it does have alot of dust that it will never rinse out to be 100% clear, but that's kinda to be expected because it is just carbon sticks rubbing together making more dust. Add this to a media bag and run it in a canister to clarify and deodorize your water or in a HOB with biofloss and you can start saving tons of money over filter cartridge replacements.

Great value $20 for 5lbs!
I placed it next to a pen so you know?what size?we are talking about. 5lbs of carbon for your filter below $20.... Works well with my 2 canister filters. Like this price and size a lot. Will buy again

Excellent
I stopped throwing away the cat fountain plastic cartridges that housed sachets of charcoal. They are so wasteful. I opened them, removed the charcoal sachet, then filled with these activated charcoal pellets. Now my pet fountain water remains fresh smelling even longer than before.
