They have a good calming effect for somebody who is anxious by nature. They have zero taste which some pills taste bad have not noticed with these. I don't know why supplement companies use "1600 mg" on the front of the bottle rather than using "1.6 grams." I suppose it makes it seem like there is a lot more per capsule. I have been trying other brands that give off a stronger smell of the plant. I am unsure why 1.6 g per capsule wouldn't have a stronger holy basil smell, especially since it allegedly has more milligrams than other brands. Maybe it has to do with whatever they combine it with inside the capsule or the parts of the plant they use. I do like this brand for some other herbs, which appear to be good quality, but I am not as impressed with their holy basil formula. I also notice a more relaxed feeling with brands other than this one. Maybe that has to do with the potency of some other brands. The other brands I have used that result in greater relaxation are also significantly more expensive, upwards of 3- 5x more expensive.
