Great Book for getting the most out of your ZS100. It explains all functions Simply and Clearly.
This is an excellent resource for getting the most our your ZS 100.. This is my fourth White book on cameras. The other books were on Sony models and they were all extremely helpful and very well written. I chose the kindle version so I can read it on my computer, tablet or put in on a smartphone. This allows me to carry and read it anywhere. White's style is very easy.to read and most everything you would want to know about the camera,, functions and useful accessories are covered..I've have read only a portion of the book and already discovered a number of things that will help me use the camera much more effectively. The Panasonic manual covers all the operations of the camera but trying understand them is a challenge. It also doesn't explain things completely or in the easy to read manner. that you find reading White's book. White's book not only covers all the functions but also gives helpful tips that can make the difference between great success with your images and videos and lots of frustration. The frustration sets in when you don't fully understand how or why the camera does certain things or how to set the camera for best settings or functions. The book also includes lots of colorful images to illustrate parts of the camera, functions or modes of operation. There are also clickable links to Panasonic website and software.Bottom line...Reading the book makes using the camera much easier and complex functions are explained simply and clearly so you will know how to use your camera more effectively. If you are confused reading the Panasonic manual or you want more,, White's book will help.more than you can imagine. .

OUTSTANDING guide book!
Been a photographer "camera bug" for over 50 years now, so I've had a chance to pretty much get the basics down by now. Also, a HUGE fan of the Lumix camera line. The ZS100 is my sixth Lumix. This photographer's guide is invaluable as a companion to the ZS100. I already own and regularly use an FZ1000 (my "go to " camera), but it's just too large to have with me all the time. Hence, the ZS100. When I bought it, I didn't fully realize the functional differences and nuances between the two cameras, and things the ZS can do that my FZ can't! This Guide took that learning curve down to next to nothing. Extremely well written and researched. If you acquire the ZS, get this Guide as well and spend a few hours with it along with your new ZS alongside. You'll be extremely pleased with both.

Easy to follow how-to
We all know how woefully inadequate OEM-supplied user manuals are so this is a must-have for a complicated little powerhouse camera. This author did his homework, knows his stuff, and provides easy-to-follow tips for basic to advanced settings. And you don't have to be a pro photographer to use it.

Must have for ZS 100 newbies
Panasonic makes extraordinarily capable cameras, but can't be bothered to provide good instruction manuals. As a result, neophyte users such as myself rarely use any but a fraction of the available options, because we don't know how and can't find out. This excellent book is what Panasonic should include with every camera they sell, a document which explains the features of the camera, what they are useful for and how to use them effectively.Panasonic offers many models and introduces new ones annually, but as these are all from the same stable, many settings and features are the same across the Panasonic line. I've found this manual useful for my ZS 50 as well as for my ZS 100.Do note there is still a considerable learning curve, the camera is stuffed with features and each setting has its quirks, but at least there is a structure to help understand the purpose and application of each feature, rather than a disconnected statement of features in a specific setting.

The most complete, best organized and clearly illustrated manual for the Panasonic Lumix DMC ZS100 A Must Have!
The best organized and detailed guide I've ever had for a complicated and very fine piece of equipment. I love all the photographs and all the clear explanation of each important option offered by this wonderful camera. The manufacturer only sends you about 20 pages of 3 inch by 5 inch pages on this camera. The manufacturers used to provide much more. I bought the Kindle edition of this manual. It enables me to mark important pages and see a very detailed table of contents too. This way I can pick the sections that are most important to me and what I photograph. I also have the manual on my iPad. That enables me to go to a class on photography and find the section we are talking about very fast while the teacher is helping us to find and use the features of this camera.

The book you need for the Panasonic Zs100
This is the very best book I have found to fully understand what the Panasonic Zs100 can do, and HOW to do it. I had my camera for 2 years and always felt I was not fully enjoying all of the features that it had to offer. The few people I asked to help me could only tell me a about a few of the features. I have not finished the book yet, but so far it is fantastic. Compliments to Alexander White, the Author.

Complicated book for a complicated camera!
When it comes right down to it, this camera is complicated beyond imagination! It has features that nobody ever thought about. This book does a good job of explaining most all those features, but I would think the person that buys his camera wants something more on the order of a simpler point and shoot. Unfortunately it does not cover all of the dozens of on-screen icons and symbols available.

Excellent guide to using the Panasonic TZ100
This publication is exactly what I had been looking for. The on-line Panasonic guide book is difficult to read and understand in practical terms what all the various adjustments do and when/how you would use them. This book begins by explaining how to set up the basic automatic functions to get you taking good photos within a short period. It then explains the multitude of other and more advanced features of the camera. Having illustrations to refer to makes it a lot easier to understand. There's an incredible amount of very useful helpful information in this book. All you need is the time to read it, take it all in and practice on your camera. If you want to learn how to get the best out of your TZ100 and understand how to use it correctly then this is the book to buy - excellent.

Excellent, informative guide to getting the best from the TZ100
I have Alexander White's guide for my LX5 and found it very clear and easy to follow. On that basis I thought I would give his TZ100 guide a try. Nice touch that you can download a sample first. The guide does not disappoint. It's thorough, with clear descriptions and useful accompanying screen grab photos, so you can see what he is describing on the camera LCD. Useful also for tips about when best to use the many functions on the camera.I don't use it as a photo manual as such, but more as a reference point. If I'm planning a day out, with family or dog where there will some action shots and video opportunities, or for a more scenic walk with plants and landscapes I'll dip into the guide the night before and get up to speed on the functions that work best in these situations and set up a custom menu to quicken things along. One tip for iPad or tablet owners - I would recommend you download this to your tablet and not to Kindle, as you will lose the richess of the LCD screen grabs, and with menu hyperlinks it's much easier to navigate to the sections you need.Another very good guide by Alexander White and well worth the investment to get the best out of a this cracking little camera's capabilities.

The TZ100's Missing Manual - worth every penny
I bought a Panasonic Lumix TZ100 a few months ago, before going on holiday. I was used to a trusted old Canon Powershot and although I'm really not even a good amateur photographer, I knew enough to find my way around the Canon's manual settings to be able to set ISO, Shutter Speed and aperture. But the TZ100 totally threw me - it's a very complicated camera with more functions than a dummy like me will ever need, and the manual is not really much help. I was ready to sell it on an auction site when I stumbled across reviews of this book. And this books saved the day.Written for people of all levels rather than expert photographers, this book is definitely a case of 'missing manual'. It covers pretty much everything in digestible chapters, and even gives you advice on what kind of settings are sufficient for your needs. I started to work my way from the beginning, until I figured out enough to be able to use the camera. Now I dip in and out, highlight what I need, bookmark relevant pages so that I can refer to it time and time again. This is a book I will treasure until my camera needs replacing again (probably not for a long time).Panasonic should hire Alexander White and get him to write their manuals. One last thing: as this book is a lot cheaper on Kindle and paper copies take longer to be delivered, get the Kindle copy and then read the book on the Kindle Cloud Reader on your laptop or desktop computer. It's much better than on a standard Kindle (like the Paperwhite) as there are illustrations and tables.

Brilliant guide buy a real user who knows the camera well.
This is an excellent manual for this complex little camera and has made my use of it much easier. Every aspect of the camera's controls is explained clearly, showing the reasons for a setting as well as the settings themselves, which is much better than the Panasonic manual that came with the camera. If you've paid out for the camera then this won't break your budget and will extract the maximum value you'll get min all situations.

Really useful
This book is detailed and comprehensive and well written. Panasonic provide relatively little information about the camera and it's a shame in a way that this book is needed, given the price of the camera. However, if you want to make the most of the camera this book will help you to understand all the functions of the camera. In doing so there are some limited tips on composition etc but it's not intended as a tutorial on how to take good pics - just how the camera works. It's quite a large format - for a companion to a small camera I would have liked a smaller (and thicker) book, but hey ho.
