Great
Perfect book for a boy of 10-years. Who had already read one book out of sequence and wanted to read the rest, perfect for grandparents needing to by presents. Interest was also helped by the fact that the book also had a web site for fun.Books were taking about 2 weeks each .(Bed time only)

Good for 8 yr old boys
My 8 yr old son enjoys reading these books on his own. They are a nice length, not too long or short. The stories are set in different countries dealing with a mystery involving something that each particular country is famous for. My son has a number of these books and likes them.

Super cool!
My 6-8 year old loved these and they've motivated him to read a lot. He's almost got the whole series, which he's spending his precious birthday money on, so they must be good!

Too much slang, other books in the series are better
The book has some good qualities... It is exciting, creative, and an overall good story. I like that she incorporates history, geography, and foreign language in her books. The main problem I have with it is that it uses a lot of slang. Maybe it's ok for a much older child, but for someone who is just getting into chapter books, it's kind of confusing. Things like "ain't," "y'all," "d'ya," and "dunno" are used. It's nice the author is trying to write in the way the bad guys are speaking, but it's confusing for little ones. We've read other books in the series and they are better.
