Great pair of cutting scissors. I've been trying to do my own grooming on my dogs because taking them to the groomers is a bit pricy and I found I can usually do a better job at it...because I know how I like my dogs to look. I have two long haired aussies and I need to trim them at least 1 a month to keep them looking good and not all roughed up. The regular looking scissor are just that...regular scissor that you would find most places. These scissor are not very forgiving and pretty sharp. So if you make a mistake, than you have to deal with your work for a little bit until the hair grows out again (mistakes aren't really a big deal because dog fur grows pretty fast). The second pair are thinning shears. These basically thin out the area you are cutting. As a beginner I prefer to use thesis because they are very forgiving. You can basically keep cutting at an area until it looks nice for you. If you make a wrong few cuts its okay because it not very noticeable. I found this method does take a little longer than using the regular shears but when I first started out it was very helpful in getting a good result.All in all these are great shears for your dogs and cats I guess. Keep in mind that they will eventually dull out and you'll have to get them sharpened. The thinning shears are a pain to use if they are not sharp, the regular shear are a bit easier to use when they are dull but still not much fun.

This is a high quality grooming set. The scissors work very well for trimming my Maltese's hair. I really like the round tip so I don't have to worry about poking him, especially when trimming areas on his face and close to his eyes. That has always made me nervous, but I feel better with round tip.I also absolutely love the comb! It works magic on my Pomeranian mix's hair. The comb glides through her hair so I can quickly get tangles out... I don't have long because she doesn't like to sit still or have her tail brushed, but I can actually get it done now without much of a struggle. Plus it's stainless steel so if she gets ahold of if, she won't chew on it like she has with plastic brushes or combs before. I received this set at a discount for my honest opinion and I can honesty say that it is a great product. I will buy this again if anything happens to the set.

These are worth the price! I had bought a cheaper set of shears, but they just gnawed at my dogs fur and made a terrible noise which freaked her right out. These shears are quiet and sharp, they get the job done so much faster and with less hassle.

The scissors arrived and at first look we thought they may be to small. But as stated the inserts come out and ....even my husband (he wears a size 13 ring) Can fit his thumbs and fingers in the scissors.

Scissors work great. Love the type of comb that comes with since it keeps my dogs from trying to lick or get near the scissors.

Love these scissor! They're so much better than I expected. They fit great in my hands & sharp. The comb is more heavy duty than expected, great when using the clippers.

Best scissors. I bought it to groom our 2 dogs hair, its so sharp and comfortable. I use it to cut my families hair too...= )
