Best 3 in 1 Soldering station there is.
After doing a bit of research and looking at a few cheaper alternatives I decided to go for the 853D soldering station, I'm very pleased with my choice. The soldering Iron comes with enough tips for any electronics job and it heats up quickly with a good range of temperature adjustment, if you enable the sleep function it also reduces the temperature after a few minutes of not being used but quickly heats back up to temperature once you start using again. The Hot air gun as well as adjustable temperature has an adjustab;e air flow which is a useful feature. The -15V built in power supply is helpful when working on devices and diagnosing problems. Only short falls are the USB socket built in only provides 5 volts at 500mA I'd have liked at least 2 Amps and it would be nice if among the many accessories included they have included a retort style stand for the hot air gun. (Something I've ultimately had to buy seperately). All in all though very pleased with this quality bit of kit.

It's been just over a year..
So, at this price sometimes things can be hit and miss, however, this 3 in 1 is truly fantastic. Build quality exceeds expectations and had held up very well to frequent use and even occasional travel. The soldering iron has a great feel in hand and the silicone type cables are tangle free and plenty long enough to use on most worktops or desks. The hot air rework function also performs very well with a selection of nozzles which have proven very easy to fit/change and helpful for isolating heat delivery to smaller components. The USB socket has proven useful on occasion and the variable output power supply is actually fantastic for use with my variable speed fume extractor. It's compact size takes up all but a small portion of my workspace and is aesthetically well laid out. Value for money of this setup really can't be faulted, it's honestly one of the best purchases I've made to date with near daily use and no signs of wear or wanting to quit. I can honestly say this unit comes highly recommended and won't let you down, be it for occasional use or indeed everyday, it faithfully performs without a problem.

Its ok, not amazing, but it works for a home amateur
We fix electrical wiring and components at work, so wanted a multimeter, power supply, soldering iron and a heat gun for heat shrink. It works ok, its not amazing. I found from the manufacturer website, that the soldering iron is only 50 watts, which makes sense as sometimes it struggles to melt solder if there is a lot of it. I tried to fix a small stained glass lamp with it the other day and it just wouldn't melt the solder, so had to use an old soldering iron from my tool box. The heat gun has also stopped working and i can't find a way to fix it. I think if you're one of those people that like to tinker once in a while at home, its great, I wouldn't buy it for any form of commercial work though.... ohh last thing, I screwed the iron and heat gun holders to the side using existing threaded bolt holes in the casing, they now never fall over and it is much better solution.

Great workstation
Used many times now, for a quick job or something a bit more demanding. There really is nothing to not like about this. Used regular and never let me down

Solder rework station 100 - 480C version.
Bought this to replace my existing solder station that failed after 6 years. After 2 week of use I am quite pleased with this unit. Temperature control and range is good (100 – 480C version) and the added USB power socket and the inbuilt variable PSU and meter, although quite rudimentary, are the icing on the cake.

can't fault it
Everything works and have used it. Soldering iron with leaded and unleaded solder, I have used this a lot, not quite 2 months but have built those cheap kits you get radio mainly. Think i got some sort of discount on the amazon site so very pleased with the station. Decent build quality and easy to use have the microscope on the USB, when i need it. Power supply not used much but works, got a separate lab pack so .... .Nice to see spare solder irons available if needed from amazon site.

Does what it should and does it reasonably well
Works as it should all temperatures seem reasonably accurate. Sleep mode works efficiently and responsively. Setting the voltage on the PSU part on the other hand is very fiddly as the control is not very fine (dual control Coarse and Fine would be useful) also not sure that the USB port actually works as tried to charge a phone from it an it did nothing.
