Non fictional stories that my 3rd grader loved!
I really enjoyed the fact that my son was reading non fictional stories covering a variety of subjects. Topics include subjects such as Hurricanes, The National Anthem, Our Solar System, The Grand Canyon, Piano Lessons, Pyramids, Newspaper Reporters, and many more. I also appreciated the answer key at the back of the book. My son did not even know it was there until he finished the book and seen the stickers in the back. The grading stickers added encouragement while preparing for his school standardized tests. The stories were not horribly long so he was able to focus on the importance of the passage. The pages were different in a way that helped him recognize things in the next text that he would not have. For example, there are passages that ask questions about the passages, distinguishing between what is true and false (paying attention to the choices), numbering the sequence of events from the passage, and even fun puzzles that kept him engaged! He completed the entire book in about month. He would work in the book (one page) during the week after his school homework. He would even ask to do more pages! It was a great addition to our homework routine. I will purchase more of these books because of the quality and the price! I look forward to seeing what all Sterling Publishing for kids has to offer! I highly recommend.

This was very helpful
I spent a week babysitting my grandlittles, one of whom struggles with reading and comprehension. So I ordered this book for us to work through. She enjoyed doing it together and there was a reward at the end of the week for finishing the book. I left it with her parents so they can do it again (we answered the questions verbally so the book isn't marked up).
