Wow. Just wow. Author is amazing!
Must Have!Wow. Is all I can say. This book is so easy to read and understand even for kids. It’s a must have for kids who are “struggling” emotionally with “life” and just figuring out their pathway to the future. My son struggles with excepting responsibility for his actions and choices. He doesn’t understand the difference between consequences and punishment. He’s been depressed and sad. Avoiding medication has been our goal so if that’s where you’re at also or trying to get to us kid off the meds... then this is the book for you. This book is a winner. He’s open and receptive to reading and working through the questions. #addtocart #buynow

My son (who is taller than myself, and sounds like a man, but cannot drive yet (: ) has been through a lot. He had gotten in trouble in school and cutting and had a constant blank stare. My son had slipped into a dark place inside himself. His therapist recommended this. With this book, therapy, medication, and close monitoring by me, he's climbing out of his dark hole. We talk now, he's opening up, he feels understood. These are our kids. I now have my wonderful son back! It is so good to see him smile once again, I wasn't sure if I would ever see that again. It is an answer to my prayers.

OK
I was disspointed this book seemed very babish on some levels. It tried to bring bigger concepts to an age apporpiate level. I don't really it as something kids would read on their own. I puchased for pre-teens and would recommed it better for maybe 7-10 year olds.

The "so what" book
The same advice a kid would ignore from his parents, he'll embrace from this book. Here's an excerpt: "You've got funny ears, a big nose, or a big butt? So what! (Hey, that kind of rhymed.) Seriously, does that prove you're a bad person...Write down how worrying about other people's opinions of you is making your life better."It's got true/false questions, and fill-in-the-blanks that kids are used to from school, but it's all about them. How could a kid resist? You'd never know it's based on a serious, well-proven therapy technique. To a kid, it's just a means to feel understood, less alone, and more aware of their own power. As an author myself of a book (for adults) based on the same technique, I believe this book is a valuable tool for depressed kids to find their way to happiness.
