Reiki for Life (Updated Edition): The Complete Guide to Reiki Practice for Levels 1, 2 & 3

An excellent informative guide for anyone interested in the energy Reiki healing system.
Even though I have taken Reiki courses (1,2, and 3 levels) many years ago, while browsing on Amazon, when I came across this revised and updated 400 pages soft cover book, (Reiki for life: The complete guide to Reiki practice for level 1, 2, & 3 by Penelope Quest), I decided to purchase it.I have read numerous books over the years on Reiki, and I found this one to be one of the very best I have read recently. This excellent and very detailed book covers an enormous amount of material in a clear and easy to understand way. The great illustrations show exactly the places to apply the Reiki techniques for healing. This very informative guide is organized into five parts. Part one explains the “simplicity and power: Reiki healing energy.” The second part covers “activating your healing channel, Reiki first degree.” The third part focuses on “developing your understanding: Reiki second degree.” The fourth part deals with “your continuing steps along the Reiki path.” The final part is about following “the Japanese tradition” of learning Reiki.I found this book to be an excellent guide and reference source for anyone interested in Reiki healing energy training. It even lists the many different Reiki healing systems being taught worldwide.Rating: 5 Stars. Joseph J. Truncale (Author: Zen poetry moments: Haiku and Senryu for special occasions).

Excellent Book
Anyone studying Reiki, this book is a must. I finished Reiki I Certification and the information was very good. Can’t speak to the rest of the book but I am sure it has the same great information for Reiki II and for Master.

Very Comprehensive
Having recently completed Reiki Level 1, I've been reading many Reiki books. This one stands out, also covering a lot of issues facing a "newbie" so as not to become discouraged from the onset. The best I've come across so far.As an aside, anyone interested in Reiki should know that it's not enough to just read a book on it, you would have to take a course and be "attuned" to channel Reiki energy. I've read some reviews where they felt they were gypped, thinking that after reading the book they would be able to use Reiki. If you understand that's not the case, then you can certainly read the books to learn about Reiki and determine whether you'd want to pursue it.

Thorough, but thoroughly leaves me questioning Reiki
Very thorough handbook. Everything you'd need to know, but not a super captivating read - for me, anyway.. An example of its simplicity would be a paragraph or two explanation of the differences between allopathic and holistic medicine. This book is comprehensive and not missing any detail, but I might say even a slight touch of personal experience can be hard to find, if that's what you're looking for.I was disheartened to read that Mrs. Takata perpetuated the probable lie that Usui was a Christian scholar/teacher, in order to appeal to Western students. I do understand why, but it was sad to learn this, especially since she made a very, very large profit from these students under a false claim. As far as the west is concerned, I also just feel like a weekend workshop isn't enough to call yourself a "Master" at Reiki. Or is it? In general, there are some things that don't set well with me.That being said, I rated this as a review of the quality of writing and thoroughness on the subject, not as a review of my feelings about Reiki. If anything I'm grateful that this book highlighted a false idea I had about Usui.

Inspirational and Informative
In my quest to learn more, this is the 3rd book. it is well written, and inspirational. it does not tout itself as the definitive book on Reiki, but i think is a wonderful marriage of the ideas i've seen in other books. Very respectful of different approaches. So many ideas to try. I have recommended this to others. Worth the money. I only wish P. Quest was still teaching.

Loved it!
Very comprehensive book!I did level 1 and 2 Reike, but the teachers made it sound like a very hard complicated thing that put me off for a while so I never practiced nor carrried on studying. Just read this book, and it changed my mind about it, easy to understand, explains the difference methods between the west and the Japanese, and really leaving you to decide on how you want to practice! Been practicing and loving it! That’s how important it is to choose the right master!

I was suprised by how well this book and information was presented. There are several pictures to help show you how to use the information. It is easy too understand and follow with detailed instructions and flows well and in the perfect order not jumping all over the place.

Very good book
Too many people are becoming Reiki "practitioners" without really knowing what they're doing. Sadly there are some "masters" out there willing to make anyone a practitioner without the hours needed to learn properly. I was in a similar position and didn't agree with it. This book is exactly how it should be. This is what Reiki is all about. Don't be fooled by others claiming to be experts . Unless they do as this book instructs, you have a duff. For anyone really, truly intending to practice Reiki, this the only book you need. Unless you want to elaborate on the animal Reiki and there is a good book out there for that too. Brilliant and correct book. For all TRUE Reiki folk.
