Good cover - but not as durable as hoped
About as good as it gets in tonneau covers- durable, attractive, nearly watertight, and easy to install. Working solo and very carefully it took me under 40 minutes to install the Bakflip F1 on a 2015 F-150 with 5.5ft short box.Helpful hint: most installations route the drain hoses to the plastic plugs near the bottom of the bed. I cut the drain tubes down to about 4 inches long and used the holes in the sides of the stake pockets instead. No drilling required and a perfect fit.Update after 1 year:Trouble with this product. Not as durable as hoped. The panels are made from thin aluminum sheet metal bonded to a foam core. After about 9 months the aluminum started coming unglued from the foam and bowed out. It's completely loose on the underside of the tail section and about half loose on the mid panel. It's bowed out to the point you cannot even press it flat as if it has stretched or pulled out from the sides. Probably letting the panels fall closed eventually works the metal loose from the foam. The coating on the aluminum sheets is turning to powder and wipes off rather easily so it's turning from black to silver. The latch bar on the tail section just fell off one day! It was held on with a 1/2in wide strip of adhesive foam tape and seven small rivets. One day I closed the panel and it just fell right off. Warranty service has not been forthcoming. They said they would repeatedly send a kit to repair the latch but never have after months of pretending they didn't have my shipping address (when it was present prominently on every single message I sent them.) Rather frustrating so be prepared to not get any help from the manufacturer. I gave up on them and managed to reattach the latch bar with an ample amount of flexible marine glue and larger rivets. Drilled out the old rivets to slightly larger 3/16 size, cleaned, sanded, and cleaned the surfaces again. Took quite a bit of solvent and scraping to get off the old adhesive tape. I injected a generous amount of glue into the panel through the old rivet holes, put a solid bead of glue enough to squeeze out from the edges of the latch bar, clamped it all together along the whole length and put in about 11 3/16 aluminum rivets. It's there to stay now. Some of the other rubber trim is falling off now and needs to be glued on again. If you want this product I suggest you close the panels gently since they are not very durable. I do not plan to buy another bak cover unless they make improvements. I'm thinking a single piece hard cover is probably a better option now. It will look better longer and be a lot less frustrating.Warranty update:Amazingly Bak Industries does seem to honor their warranty and stand behind their product. After sending them a final message advising that I was giving up on their service they sent me a replacement cover. I was amazed. Buy with confidence.

Dry and secure bed!
We just got a new truck a few months ago and on our first camping trip with it we quickly learned how much of a pain it is to feel like you have to move things like child carrier backpacks etc into the cab of the truck to secure it if you stop somewhere for lunch. We had a three week road trip to Utah and Canada planned and I knew we’d want a good tonneau cover to secure our cargo in the bed of the truck and keep it dry. After a lot of research on tonneau covers I settled on getting this one and can honestly say I couldn’t be much happier. While on our 5,000 mile round trip we drove through wind and torrential rain at times and everything in the bed stayed dry. Even after raining for two days straight in Canada. I did use the included drain tubes and had them drain out the holes drilled in the plastic plugs they tell you to drill through in the instructions. With getting up to 85 mph on some roads and with crosswinds I never had any problems with the cover rattling in the wind like I had heard one reviewer talk about. I think it may have been a fluke or possibly a different method of installation that may have given them the problem.Having the BackFlip Tonneau cover was a game changer for us and my wife and I were both so glad I had insisted on getting it before our trip.It was pretty easy to install on my 2020 Ford F150 and I had it installed within about an hour and a half including the time it took to find tools etc. It looks really clean and sleek and really serves its purpose quite well. I’d recommend it to my friends and anyone of you who might be looking for a tonneau cover.

Fit and Security
Easy to install by yourself. Fit I excellent if you take your time, pay attention to detail and strive for a professional look. It took me about forty-five minutes to install by myself. Only common hand tools needed to install. When the order was received everything was inventoried for correct count and damage. One piece of hardware was missing and I immediately notified the manufacturer. I spoke with a representative in order to have the product corrected. The missing part was determined and I was assured the part would be sent out the next day. Well two months later I am still waiting! This cover was registered for warranty purposes the day I received it.I do like the look of the cover and the protection it offers. One thing I would recommend has to do with the opening of the panels. The way it operates you have to pull the release on both sides of a panel in order to open it. This is a challenge on the middle panel and the panel that is closest to the cab. In order to open these two panels is either get in the bed and grasp both cables (right and left side) to disengage the locks or have a person on the opposite side of the truck to assist you.Overall this is a very good and well made product. I have been on the interstate and rough roads, the unit stays in place, no movement.I would highly recommend this product to someone looking for a well made quality product.Bak-Flip I would have given you five stars if you would have been responsive to assuring I received the missing parts.
