Uplifting and helps you move on
A great little book that you can read in little bits. It has a page for each day, but I usually read a few pages every few days. Highly recommend it to anyone who wants to lift their spirits after the loss of a loved one.

This little book is a treasure for people dealing with grief. Someone gave me a copy when my father passed away and I found the short, daily paragraphs very comforting. I pay it forward and rather than buy a sympathy card I buy a copy of this for friends going through loss.

Helpful
I bought this book after losing both my Mother and brother within three weeks. It is helpful to pick up and read randomly, you don't have to start at the beginning.

Solace
Such a beautiful book with short sayings and reflections. Very comforting, especially when you don't have a network of support or when others don't understand and judge you.

For the Bereaved
My son Robert died tragically in a car accident on March 26th 2012. This book has been a huge help to me on my long and lonely spiritual journey.

Amazing/Perfect
I lost my wife just over a month ago… this was recommended by the bereavement counsellor. I started reading a week after she passed… from day 1 I found this book very helpful. Each passage presented each day seamed to fit the progress or day I was having. This daily read has helped me in the early days of my grief and I have bought an other copy for our daughter. I would strongly recommend this book. The short daily entries are easy to get through and just enough to ease my mind. Thank you.

Comforting Thoughts
The day-by-day thoughts have been comforting to me after the recent loss of my husband. It was a gift from a friend in the same situation, who appreciated the book. I have given it to several other friends who suffered losses. Each day (marked by the date) has a literary quote, a non-denominational meditation/thought based on the quote, and a line or two to summarize. I've actually marked the pages that really resonated for me. And there are A LOT of marked pages. When I gifted the copies I told my grieving friends that I hoped they got as much out of it as I did... and if there are days that are just awful, it's a good size book to throw at the wall and just scream.

Absolutely beautiful.
It is what is says it is - a guide for the grieving. With short but profound thoughts for each day. Highly recomended, beautifully written and very helpful.

Irresponsible book binding by the printers
This is a classic book, that provides some solace and words express the loss over 365 days, and we can repeat as the healing is unending...but the printer, William Morrow (an imprint of HarperCollins Publishers) shows no appreciation of reading a book - for every page one has to prise the book at the binder to read the words at the inner edges (do see the image). The printer has reduced a 5-Star content-book to a 2-star reading experience - a disgrace to the dignity of reading!!!
