As another reviewer already noted, some copies, as did mine, have missing pages. Very poor quality control at Wiley’s. Also, the print quality is poor. Appearently the book is printed on demand with what seems to be a run of the mill home printer. Accordingly, paper quality equals copy paper. Certainly not heavy coated paper as yet another reviewer mentioned. I reckon this must have been the case with a traditionally printed edition. Poor paper and print quality do not do the stunning imagery justice. In either case, this edition is not for the bibliophile.

The book is an important recording of soft tissue fossils first discovered at Chengjiang in Yunnan Province, China, in 1984. Since then many thousands of specimens have been collected for study. The book, now in second edition, is superbly illustrated with fine detail images of these Cambrian fossils.

The Chengjiang fossil site is among the most important fossil sites in the world, and offers an unbelievable insight of the earliest forms of animal life. This book offers great photographs and excellent descriptions of the fossils found there. A must have for anyone interested in history of life on Earth, well worth the price!

2008年発売の朝倉書店：澄江生物群化石図譜（この本は2010年に購読済ですが）　の原著改訂版と思います。ここ数年に発見された新種および既知種における新たな知見や分類、その新復元図が描かれています。　私自身　ウェツリコラ　ミクロディクティオン　などの実物化石を所有して研究していますがこの書籍の詳細写真はディティール差の確認や今後の化石収集の参考に利用可能と考えます。日本語版が出版される事を強く望みます。
