Fiddle Time Sprinters + CD: A third book of pieces for violin

As a mature adult beginner I can thoroughly recommend this series as having tunes you'll enjoy playing. Old favourites and ones written by the authors to cleverly incorporate practising techniques in enjoyable, catchy tunes. Just have to accept that there are a few colourful pictures that give your status away on the music stand!! But, if you're as old as me, just be proud you're finally living the dream!!

What I need for my grade 3 but was disappointed that it did not come with the piano accompaniment that I usually expect with violin books. I suspect it is because it has the CD instead though I haven't listened to it yet. I have to buy the piano part separately.Edit: I am continuing to use it for sight reading after my Grade 3 and have just noticed that there are songs missing, mislabelled or added in piano only when it was only LR or violin duet and already had those tracks. Quite disappointing and wonder how they got that wrong. I am missing tracks 3,19,20, 25,26,27,35, 36,37 and have double of 21 though one version is piano only even though its a violin duet piece.

Another great edition for my son to use. These are recommended by his tutor and my son has had the previous books prior to this one along with the Christmas one. Plenty of pieces that are familiar and some that are not so a good variety. I love listening to him practising and recognising some of them.

A great book for beginners. The pieces in here are fun to play and enjoyable. The CD is good to help keep time when playing pieces.

Would not suggest getting this item as used even if marketed as good quality. Mine is worn and has writing over many of the pages. Buy new it’s literally falling apart.
