Authentic and easy to use
Good quality product. It does exactly what it says it does. Patience, meditation, art, and gratitude are inseparable. In this case, one will start by patiently meditating on the very concept of creating your own ink. As the process goes on, one develops a greater appreciation for the craftsmanship that has resulted in such product. Finally, one shall finish the work of art with raw emotions.

Impressive
This was my first attempt at grinding ink. The ink quality is beautiful, the stone is a perfect size and smooth surface, the price was surprisingly affordable for the quality…. especially since it was essentially an art ”toy” for me. I was intrigued by the process and not disappointed with the product. I highly recommend if you have any interest in the art of Sumi e painting/calligraphy.

Good deal
This ink stone is of good quality, nice and heavy. It arrived on time and undamaged. I am very satisfied with the quality for price (beginners stone).

Dirty stone difficult to clean
I have previously been pleased with Kuretake pan colors and other Japanese art supplies. However, these stones discolored all the colored ink sticks I ground on them and would only be initially suitable for black ink sticks. I have tried to wash them several times but they still shed gray color which is bad when using light yellows and greens. I think they will eventually be okay with use and continued cleaning only using the grinding stone always for the same color ink sticks. It is difficult to find quality ink sticks and grinding stones.
