Very good at price
Solid, excellent fingerprint recognition and memory, easy to mount and use. Good backup options to access. I did research before settling on this model. Much better than rather good ones I purchased around 9 years ago. Price a factor, but security and emergency access ability was more important to me. Mount allows for a wide variety of location options. I placed in a non-traditional location with a bit of woodwork added to a metal frame. The slide drawer works smoothly and the combination or print quickly activates it. Plenty of room for my 1911 and extra .45 x 8 magazine. Emergency flashlight sits on top.

Dual Access Methods - Biometric and Code Entry
Very nice pistol safe, was a perfect fit for my wife's use with her pistol. Works verry well, well-made and the wife's loves having both biometric and code entry methods for accessing the interior. May by one for me now.Great product.

This handgun safe is amazing!
The media could not be loaded. I rarely write reviews for items I purchase on amazon even though I'm an avid user of reviews (I know, I should be better about this). I was so impressed with this handgun safe that I had to leave a review. When looking for a handgun safe, my requirements were -- 1) Be able to properly secure a large handgun (1911) from children and other unauthorized people 2) Be quickly accessible in the middle of night without having to get out of bed and/or fumble around in the dark. This safe hit those two "must haves" right out of the park!As you can see from video, this handgun safe is big enough to comfortably hold my Springfield 1911 and one mag. The foam insert in the safe can be removed and cut if needed to accommodate larger guns although I did not have to do that for mine. The battery pack is on the back side of safe and easily removable. Four AAA batteries are required and are not provided. I found the simplicity of the safe's operating functions very desirable. I had the safe open and programmed with a new code in under 5 mins from unpacking and most of that time was me installing batteries and reading the manual it comes with. I had up to 15 fingerprints (certain fingers I put in multiple times to increase the readability) within the first 10 mins. The program button to input a new code and/or new fingerprints is located in the safe under the #3 key. The safe allows you to put a code that is 4, 5, or 6 digits long using the numbers 1-4. You cannot press two digits at the same time. There is also a quiet feature to silence the loud beeping that is heard every time you enter a number or fingerprint. The safe comes with two physical keys that can unlock the safe from the keyhole found on the underside of the safe.I installed this bad boy on the side of my night stand. I did have to modify my nightstand with a quarter inch piece of plywood due to the design of the nightstand and the desired height I wanted the safe to rest. This was not a knock against the design of the safe or mounting bracket but just simply a quick fix to make sure the safe sat in a position that was best suited for my personal liking. The mounting bracket was very simple to screw on to the nightstand with the four screws provided and it can be switched from the left or right side of the safe to accommodate different mounting positions. The bracket has a small safety screw that screws on from the inside of the safe. I did find it a little challenging to get this small safety screw on but only because I have overly large hands and the safe is too small for me to get my giant meat hooks in there while also having the dexterity needed to properly fit this screw. So I just got my wife to do it instead.Overall, I am very impressed with this safe. While it is a little pricey compared to other handgun safes, I find it to be worth every penny. With a small child running around and more to come, this safe gives me peace of mind that my gun is both safe from children and easily accessible for authorised users.

Great safe. Well-built and easy to access
This is a very simple, well-built, robust handgun safe. The slide mechanism works well, as does the numeric keypad. I was pleased to find it would take either a 4-digit or 6-digit code. I prefer 4 digits since I am less likely to make a mistake while entering the code under pressure. And the beeps can be silenced, a very important feature if stealthy access matters to you.The fingerprint sensor works well, though in a pinch I would probably resort to the numeric code. I have scarring on my index finger and biometric sensors rarely do well with that. I have to place my finger just right to make it work, which might be hard to remember if trying to get into the safe in a hurry. If I use a different finger I have no problem, and my wife has no problem whatsoever (the safe can store up to 20 fingerprints).Mounting is very easy, with two caveats. First, be sure you leave a few inches between the back of the safe and any hard surface (like the back of a desk) otherwise it might be difficult to access the battery compartment. Second, the safe attaches to the mounting bracket by sliding onto a pair of tabs and is then secured from inside using a knurled hand screw. I would advise using a flashlight to make sure you have the screw properly aligned with the threaded hole it goes into. I first tried just inserting the screw by feel, dropped it inside the safe, and had to shake it upside down to retrieve the screw from the innards (total user error on my part). Being able to clearly see where to put the screw helps tremendously. The precut foam is meant to accept an average sized handgun and worked perfectly with my Ruger LC9S. It also accommodated my wife’s Glock 19 without the rail-mounted flashlight, but I would need to cut the foam a bit for it to fit with the light attached. Luckily the seller will provide an extra foam insert free of charge if you need one.All in all I am extremely pleased with this safe and would recommend it to anyone wanting simple, secure, easily accessible storage for their handgun.

Decent handgun safe at a fair price
The Langger biometric/slider handgun safe is nicely constructed and is a good value compared to other competitors . It holds my 1911 plus two extra magazines with ease. The biometric sensor was easy to program and recognizes my fingerprint every time. Regular keypad entry works just fine too. The slider opens almost instantaneously when the sensor reads your fingerprint or accepts the combination code. The slider drawer opens with plenty of force even with the weight of my pistol and the 2 extra magazines. Mounting the safe is easy with the provided bracket. So far, I am impressed for the price. The thing I think could be improved upon is the thickness of the steel case. I believe it should be thicker. I worry that it might be too easy to force open with a screwdriver or similar tool. Hopefully the electronics on this safe continue to be reliable. Many of the entry level biometric sensors work great at first and then stop working after the first year or so. Hopefully I will get many years of use out of my Langger slider safe.
