I purchased 2 of these thinking that I would put some of the monarch caterpillars in it and watch them grown and become beautiful butterflies. Well, it turns out that it served a much greater purposed than for me. My daughter is a teacher and earlier this month it was a week of caterpillars and butterflies for her class. I offered one of my enclosures to her with 4 small plants and one large caterpillar. The classroom watched CHOMPER grow, turn to a chrysalis, then emerge as a butterfly. They then released it as a group the next morning. I do recommend this as it is also easy to clean and store.

Our family loves watching our caterpillars transform into butterflies and this netted house for them is perfect! It's so light and the zipper works well and gives us easy access into the whole house. We put a cardboard box at the bottom, so we can easily clean. We love it!

We plant dill and parsley in smallish planters and when we see eggs, put them inside the containers. We had so many caterpillars this year we had to add more parsley. Once ready, they usually make the chrysalis along the frame (see third photo), on the plant or even on the pot. We typically fold them and store for winter so detach any remaining chrysalis from the frame and set them in the planter. One made it to spring and we had a surprise swallowtail in the spring! We have had them for several seasons and they have held up great.

Got the 15.7" x 15.7" x 23.6"Overall decent but there is no sturdy hard side like most this size have. Entirely mesh. This makes moving the enclosure difficult if there is anything even moderately heavy inside, also difficult to clean since particles get stuck in the mesh.The description clearly mentions a PVC side, which this does not have.

I did not like this cage for my Butterflies at all. It is so much easier having the clear vinyl window panel on the bottom for placement of paper towels, cleaning and not destroying the platform it is sitting on....but the delivery being several days on the original cage did not help my cause. Great for raising monarch butterflies thru all their stages of metamorphosis. Was easy to assemble and clean out after releasing the butterflies.

The lizards were eating my caterpillars and the butterfly eggs so I wanted something that wasn't super expensive that had enough room for my milk weed and the butterflies to safely open their wings and this was perfect! The perfect amount of space at the perfect price
