Specifically for Go Baduk review
Exceptional clock, I an delighted with it and find it much more useful and practical than the DGT 1005 clock (which annoyingly beeps loudly every second during the countdown, is of poorer construction, but is more portable). This ZMF clock has an excellent website and on that website are both written instructions by pdf file and an instructional video; look in the About section. I am not permitted to post a link here so just search zmf chess clock. There are many reviews of the clock itself here and elsewhere, and I will gear this toward the Go player, also known as baduk and weiqui. The most commonly used setting is byo-yomi time for Go, including tournament Go, and that feature is on this clock. I never use Canadian time, Fischer time, etc, so I have no clue if it does those settings, sorry. It is a rather easy setting your times, but you'll have to read the instructions to do it the first few times. You initially click through the menu to find "byo yoni" on the LED screen, and then you set the main time in whole minutes, then set the number of byo-yomi periods, and then finally set the seconds for each byo-yomi period. Here are some key points:It does not have a move counter when it is in the byo-yomi mode/setting (that I have ever found; there is a move counter in other settings such as chess).Once set, when you turn the main switch on, the clock is automatically in the last setting used, in this case byo-yomi, so one does not have too scroll through menus to get back where you were for a future game. The maximum main time is 90 minutes (per player). There are only whole minutes in main time setting. So, main time cannot be, for instance, 20 minutes and 30 seconds, it can only be 20 minutes or 21 minutes and so on. Range is 1-90 minutes. The maximum byo-yomi time is 60 seconds. The range is from 5 seconds to 60 seconds. The maximum number of byo-yomi periods is 15 (the range is from 1-15)The main time, byo yomi time, and number of byo yomi periods must be identical between the two players. The clock makes a very pleasant audio beep, almost like a little digital "tick" sound when someone clicks the non-moving player electrostatic buttons, or when one gets to the end of main time, or to the end of each of the byo-yomi times. Sound can be turned completely off if one wishes. There is no audible voice or tick countdown (e.g. 5 seconds, 4 seconds, etc)...there is just a single tick sound when the byo-yomi is over. At the end, when a player is completely out of time, there are a series of ticks to indicate main time and all byo-yomi times are done. I love the ticks, and they are not annoying so this can be used in a coffee shop. If one was in a loud environment, the ticks might be difficult to hear. They are pleasant and not abrasive in any way. When one is in byo-yomi time, the time stays on the screens, but about every 5 seconds or so, there will be a quick flash to "byo-1" or "byo-2, etc. to show with byo-yomi period the player is currently in. This happens frequently enough to indicate well, and no so much as to obstruct the time. That said, if one looks up precisely as the clock is showing byo-yomis remaining when the player wants the time, he may have to wait a second or two for the time to show again. Bottom line: it flips between showing byo-yomi period number and remaining seconds in that byo-yomi.The construction is superb, the heft and feel is robust and strong, and byo-yomi setting of the clock (once the set process is understood and memorized) takes approximately 20 seconds. I'm delighted with this product.

It's Your Move!
This is an awesome chess clock that every chess player should use! My teacher was playing around with it and showed me that this thing has a lot more to offer besides just being a nice LED clock. You can set it for any time and increments that you want. The feature he liked most is, when it's a player's turn, you can't just slam the pieces down on the button to start the other clock, this clock has to be touched instead. Now your opponent can't damage pieces and if he does, the clock will just keep going until touched. I'm thrilled this came in green since that's my favorite color. I also saw that it comes in red and blue too! I'm not sure how durable it is because I haven't been throwing it around, but it seems pretty durable and that's why I gave that part 4 stars. Hurry up and get this if you need a chess clock.

excellent replacement for Chronos
Excellent digital clock following the Chronos model for simplicity (i.e. fewer buttons rather than a freak show control room of dials, knobs, and other variables to completely blow up your clock, like Saitek is...). I don't need 112 settings for Go, and this clock doesn't try to deliver that. The average chess player and clock user needs to be able to quickly and easily set the gross time and any increment/time delay. If an improvement is needed, it's for some extra storage capacity for personalized settings. I can think of at least four I would like to tailor to my own use, student use, tournament use, blitz practice, etc. Other than this, the clock is durable (like Chronos) and an excellent value for the cost. I've had Chronos, DGT, Saitek, Excalibur... these are the best bang for the buck so far.

Great Chess Clock For Casual Home Games
This clock is probably great for tournament play too.... but I purchased it because of its LED display, which makes it ideal for home played games (where LCD screens might be hard to read). The only drawback that I can find is the cover for the battery compartment.... it is very hard to open and might be easily broken in frustration. I had to use a kitchen knife to pry it open, and I was lucky that I didn't ruin it in the process. According to my research, many folks have broken off the tab holding the compartment closed and have to resort to tape to keep the batteries from falling out.Other than that 1 issue, I find this excellent. The LED display is large enough for my old eyes to read, even in the dimmest room that I play games in. It fits my purpose extremely well. I will continue to use my Chronos for tournament play, but the ZMF-II has found a permanent home in my living room.

I love this clock - I've been using chess clocks since ...
I love this clock - I've been using chess clocks since the days of the wind-ups, and I also own a Saitek Mephisto Competition digital. Setting this clock is very easy, and the touch mechanism has worked flawlessly for me. I really like that over physical buttons. I've seen some reviewers commenting on the ugliness of this clock, but its a chess clock - it does its job very well, and I like the LEDs over LCDs in other digital chess clocks. The delay function does look a little funky - if the delay is 3 secs, for example, the display switches between the delay time remaining and the total time remaining until the delay is done. That's a little weird, but when you're focused on your game, you don't notice it. This is my favorite clock now, and the one I keep in my chess bag.

Great clock for backgammon
Great clock. Clear display. And lots of options to customise it as you need. I like the touch buttons - which work with skin contact, so no need to bang them. I use it for backgammon but it seems it can be used for any game requiring a clock. The only downside, it isn’t cheap. But if you play lots, it’s worth the investment in my view.
