A Great Educational Tool For Everyone
As a Certified Health Coach, I use this book as an educational tool to help my clients select their supplements, and make informed choices about what they are buying in the marketplace. This book not only reviews different products on the marketplace, it also has great nutritional information, including new research coming out about Iodine and Vitamin D, and how proper nutrition can influence and support optimal health. This is a great book. It offers unbiased review, and the top rated products have to be independently tested to make sure that what is on the product label, is ACTUALLY in the product, therefore guarantee it's potency and quality. The top products listed also has to be manufactured to pharmaceutical grade GMP, which is better than organic. From the inner cover of the book:"This guide is intended to assist in sorting through the maze of nutritional supplements available in the marketplace today. It is not a product endorsement and does not make any health claim. It simply documents recent findings in the scientific literature. This guide was not commissioned by any public sector or private sector interest, or by any company whose products may be represented herein. The research, development, and findings are the sole creative effort of the author and NutriSearch Corporation, neither of whom is associated with any manufacturer or product represented in this guide"

Changed my way of thinking about supplements
Saw the author of this book on Dr. Oz and was real curious about whether or not the supplements I'm taking are quality products. The book has great information about the purpose of many supplements and how they work in your body, in terms that I could understand; then there are ratings for tons of manufacturers and the supplements they make. For some of my supplements, I just buy what's on sale, so I found that some of the less expensive things I'm buying are really low quality. Changed my way of thinking and I'm going to actively look for the manufacturers that are making quality products. Liked the layout of the book and found it easy to read; I wouldn't hesitate to recommend to anyone who takes supplements and is interested in educating themselves in what to consider taking and who to buy from.

This is just for multi-vitamins! It's a few years out of date and it's far from accurate!
This is NOT a comprehensive list/guide to the ratings for supplement manufacturers. This is just for multi-vitamins. Many of the "experts" that create the panel have direct ties to supplement manufacturers (they're listed individually, along with their accolades, in the book itself). Also in the book, it discloses that over 99% of the ratings have been derived from what's on the product label only!..NOT independently tested (only 4 or 5 manufacturers' submitted their product for independent verification!). I give them some credit for this little bit of transparency into potential biases. I use this book as a beginning point for my research. It isn't a definitive guide by any means!

I would not have bought it as a book but I did find the recommendation useful (assuming their information is valid)
A complete book where I just needed a few pages that summarize which vitamins to buy. I would not have bought it as a book but I did find the recommendation useful (assuming their information is valid). (I bought it because I watched the Dr. Oz show).

As a health practitioner I find this book useful in talking with clients and their choice of multivitamins
As a health practitioner I find this book useful in talking with clients and their choice of multivitamins. The ratings are based on a large number of criteria factors The one factor that isn't considered is price. It is nice that it includes US as well as Canadian supplement brands.
