It is a very good substitute to oyster sauce..... Infact better than that.... However it is not soy sauce nor can be used as soy sauce....it adds a distinct flavour to your Chinese dish..... Add it along with ur soy sauce, chilli sauce and vinegar...... Doesn't give any colour but only flavour to ur dish
