Hit Z Road is quick and easy to learn with amazing artwork and a creative set of components. The goal of the game is to travel across the country while trying to save yourself and others all the while battling hordes of zombies along the way. Will you survive? Who knew a card game could provide one with such anxiety?! This is one of the best zombie games out there. If you like zombies, get this.

Excellent quick game
We took a punt on this as it was a good price and we are so glad we did!Really easy to learn, quick to set up and play but challenging and great fun!The zombie element isn't very scary so fine if you're not into horror. The components are really nice, especially considering the price, and it plays well with varied numbers of people.

Quick and easy zombie masacre
I have recently fallen in love with Martin Wallace's designs. This game definitely falls on the lighter side of what he does. Players bid for the first choice between rows of cards. Each card might have resources, victory points, a special event, and/or zombies. Fighting zombies is a simple process of spending some ammo to roll dice for a ranged attack, then rolling dice again for a melee attack (and risking having your survivors die when the zombies get in close. This game has a good, quick pace and some nice little twists that make for an over all zany and fun experience.

Great fun!
I've seen the Hit Z Road review on the Dice Tower the other day and decided to give it a go. The game itself is pretty easy to learn - there's not many moving parts, and the rules are very comprehensible. The theme is fun - you try to get to LA and not die along the way while running away from zombies. Each player is responsible for a group of survivors, and depending on the route they take, they have to face small or big risks, and sometimes also an entire horde of zombies. Fighting mechanic is simple, as it literally involves rolling multiple dice and nothing else. I personally like that, as it makes the encounters quick and interesting. The components are a-ma-zing. If you like the style of Fallout games, you'll be in love with the direction the designer took here - bottle caps, stained playing cards and car keys are amongst the elements you use (all made from a nice, thick cardboard). The route cards are breathtaking and mimic pictures taken with a camera; covered with little scribbles here and there, they are one of the most enjoyable cards I held in my hands in a long while. The game accommodates up to 4 players and while being competitive, it makes you cheer whenever any of the survivors defeat the zombies - whether they belong to you or other players. It's significantly more difficult to play with 4 people, as you are forced to take certain routes - but you can easily play with 2 people if you want to, and it's a good learning experience then; I played with my boyfriend to test it out first, and we both managed to save at least some of our survivors, whereas with 4 people zombies genuinely mopped the floor with us.Overall, the game is gorgeous, easy to play and simple to understand; if you are looking something a bit challenging with a fair amount of eye-candy (well, zombie eye-candy :P), then Hit Z Road is for you. Highly recommended!
