A fillet knife to rule them all
There I was, standing in my kitchen, staring at a beautiful salmon that lay before me on the cutting board. The fish was plump, glistening, and full of potential. But how was I to unlock this piscine treasure without the right tool? Enter the fillet knife—a blade so sharp it could make a samurai sword look like a butter knife.I picked it up, and immediately, I knew. This wasn’t just a knife; this was an extension of my very soul. The handle cradled my hand like a long-lost lover returning from the sea. The grip was so comfortable, it felt as though it had been molded from clouds. I could practically hear angels singing a chorus of culinary delight. With a breath of anticipation, I positioned the knife at the fish’s spine. The first cut—oh, the first cut! The blade sliced through the flesh as if the fish itself wanted to be filleted. It was like slicing through silk, butter, or a particularly compliant marshmallow. There was no resistance, no struggle—just pure, unadulterated slicing bliss. This knife didn’t just cut; it whispered sweet nothings into the ear of the fish as it glided through, saying, “Don’t worry, little fishy, this won’t hurt a bit.” And it didn’t. The fillet was perfection. Not a single bone dared to stand in the way of this blade, which was sharper than my wit after a glass of wine.Let’s talk about comfort. I’ve held knives before—some that felt like I was gripping a porcupine, others that seemed to have been designed by someone who thought ergonomics was a type of pasta. But this knife? This knife felt like it was crafted by the hands of kitchen gods. The handle fit so well in my palm that I began to suspect it had been custom-made just for me.The balance was impeccable. Not too heavy, not too light—just right. It was the Goldilocks of knives. I found myself wondering if I could use it for other tasks: peeling apples, cutting bread, maybe even performing surgery (but that might be frowned upon). The possibilities were endless, and the comfort was boundless. Now, I’ve mentioned that this knife is sharp, but let me emphasize—this knife is SHARP. This blade could cut through time and space if it wanted to. I’m pretty sure it could fillet the concept of disappointment itself. It’s so sharp that it cut through my existential dread and left me with nothing but pure culinary joy.In the end, this fillet knife is more than just a tool—it’s a companion on my culinary journey. It’s the hero in my kitchen story, the Excalibur of my cooking arsenal. I almost feel bad for the fish, knowing that it stood no chance against this masterful blade. If you’re in the market for a fillet knife that will change your life, look no further. This knife is sharp, comfortable, and ready to take on any challenge you throw its way. Just be careful—it might be so good that you’ll start filleting things that were never meant to be filleted. Like bread. Or dreams. So, do yourself a favor and get this knife. Your fish (and probably everything else in your kitchen) won’t know what hit them. But you will. Oh, you will.

Good quality
Ordered this knife primarily for preparing meat for bbq. Have used this to cut a whole chicken, as well as ribs and it cuts very well. Additionally, it’s easy to hold as it feels substantial while not heavy in your hand. Good value and product.

If I had to pick 3 knives to have in my kitchen, this is one
This is one of those knives that I think everyone should have in their kitchen. Only second to a good chef knife, this Dexter is perfect for working with proteins. Whether you're slicing chicken breast, trimming leg of lamb, or shaping a brisket for a long smoke, this is pretty much the perfect blade shape. The price is hard to beat, and it sharpens well, and stays sharp with a few strokes on a steel between uses.
