Sturdy and durable
Futon frame fit perfect , took awhile to put together. All parts labeled well. Price was afordable. Description said it was used/ very good . Wasn’t sure being it wasn’t new how it would work out but it was packaged well like new. Very happy with the purchase. Frames for futons are not cheap so this was great for out budget. Only $99.00.

Amazing. Some assembly tips- the screws fit, and how to get them in!
I searched everywhere for a frame and took a gamble on this cheaper one with my expectations low. I'm very impressed and I love this frame, I was able to assemble it by myself as a single not strong person. Some tips for people struggling with assembly from what I learned: You WILL NEED: -An electric drill. Magnetic bits help. -A clamp, if assembling alone. -Pliers, to hold the nuts still while tightening screws The wood screws DO fit in the frame panels but you need to have the frame laid flat on the floor and put all your weight on your drill to drive them in. Don't try it any other way, it's impossible. You will need a clamp to align and hold some pieces together while screwing if you're doing it without help. Another tip, ignore the instructions telling you to add the mattress holder brackets last and do that before you attach the panels to the frame as you'll also need a lot of force to drive in those screws. Definitely the best thing I've ever bought for my apartment, it's high quality, looks nice and is a perfect couch alternative if you have cats while also being able to turn into a guest bed.

good futon, bad instructions
This is a great futon: sturdy, comfortable, stylish. It feels a little springy underneath your weight which is nice. The only reason I won't give 5 stars is that the assembly instructions are confusing. I'll try to describe the problem although I've thrown them away: In step #6 you are instructed to affix support bars to the seat and the back. Then, step #7 tells you to affix support bars to the seat or possibly the back with a different set of nut-and-bolt connectors. But, having followed the instructions in step #6, all my support bars were attached by the time I got to step #7 so I was confused. Near as I can figure it doesn't matter which set of nuts and bolts you use to connect support bars to the seat or back -- they will be solid either way. My advice to the manufacturer is to ELIMINATE STEP 7 -- just cut it out entirely and renumber the rest of the steps. And, toss out the "special" nut and bolt connectors they want you to use with one of the two seat/back platforms in step #7; as far as I can tell this was an aesthetic judgement and I think (I hope) that it doesn't matter which you use, in terms of stability. We shall find out I guess! Anyway...it's a lovely futon but the documentation is bad.

overestimated my building abilities a bit..
Alright so, we went into this pretty optimistic. the box itself was packaged I’d say very well. organized, labeled, wrapped with plastic and spaced out with cardboard piece’s. decently heavy box, should have two people to carry it upstairs unless you wanna throw your back out. Now to the building process; the directions were a little hard to read but that’s how almost all these build it yourself amazon products are. The hardware pieces were organized perfectly in a way i haven’t seen before. They aren’t just thrown mixed together in a box, but individually spaced in plastic on a single cardboard piece for easy finding of each screw. MAKE SURE TO TAKE YOUR TIME ON EACH STEP. trust me, you don’t wanna tighten 4 screws in a cramped spot and have to restart. One complaint is some of the metal poles you need to screw pieces together into are too small. Directions say not to use a power drill, but using on a very low torque should be fine, and will save a lot of headache trying to hand screw metal on metal (if that makes sense). after 3 hours, we finally got it completed! Luckily we received an used mattress from some family and it fit perfectly on the frame. i find it easy to fold from couch, to bed, as they include handles that can be screwed on. it feels sturdy to sit on and has some decent space for at least three people and it still doesn’t feel cramped. I personally like how the back piece is a bit higher, so it doesn’t feel all small and like a child’s seat to sit on despite being lower to the floor than a couch or sofa would be. Overall, i don’t find it cheaply made like some people have said, you get what you pay for. Don’t buy a $70 frame and expect it to hold over 3000 pounds, it’s perfect for a hang room or bedroom for a group of teens or young adults like myself. edit: dropped some stars because the metal on the seating part broke and now you can fall through if you sit in a certain spot. not to mention to can feel the metal bars that are super uncomfortable to sit on. honestly not worth it. Edit 2: all the bars are completely breaking and popping off now, very disappointing

Easy Assembly and Easy Use!
This came in a smaller box than anticipated with all pieces included! Hardware is better than some of the cheap stuff I've put together before, and it seems pretty sturdy so far. Although tools are included, I would recommend a cordless drill and allen bit, as well as a real box-end wrench to speed up assembly (if you have access). What I REALLY like about it is the ease of the action; it takes much less force to lift up the seat and fold/unfold than anticipated. So far, I'm glad we went this route instead of a Murphy bed or other, especially considering the price.

USE A POWER DRILL / ELECTRIC SCREWDRIVER!!!
I'm serious, don't even try without one. It's not worth the struggle if you don't have one, can get one or can't borrow one. I had to do this MANUALLY with a normal screwdriver and it was horrible, I'm not even joking. Those screws are a nightmare to try to screw in manually! I had to put all my weight into the screwdriver as I twisted it, which was very slow and of coursing hurting my hands. This didn't take one hour, two hours or three hours...no, this took almost half the day! I know I know, but it was seriously having to screw those stupid little screws into metal! I hope it last at least, but I hear it creaking when I get off it from time to time. So I don't know how long it'll last or if it's just normal for this things. The other thing is the two little bar stopping things or whatever to help stop the futon from moving forward/ slipping off, I can't put those on. They are unaligned so I don't know what to do about that. Those are just never going to put on I guess and it's impossible to do manually if I can even figure out a way by chance. Point is, use a power drill or something and it won't be a pain anymore. It was actually easy to follow the instructs really, at least to me. It was just screwing those screws in that was the main pain and the two bar things that I can't put on at all. I had no damage at all and had all my parts, plus extra too. Now I hope it just last.

Easy to Assemble and Sturdy
I love this frame because it was so easy to assemble, and it's perfect for my needs. I use it as a couch in my living room. I bought the queen size, and my queen futon mattress fits it perfectly. I also wanted the silver frame to match my living room space once I paint the walls and add rugs, etc. Because I have four cats, I like having a metal futon frame so they won't claw it like they would if I were to buy a standard couch. I'll be dressing up the mattress later, when I'm ready, but for now it serves as a great seating area that I, and my cats, enjoy. I have to say, the assembly instructions were great. I usually can't bring myself to put something like this together on my own because I get very frustrated and confused with written instructions. But I was able to do it by myself because each step was easy to follow. The frame also pulls out flat very easily to be used as a bed. The frame feels very durable, and the price was hard to beat. Previously, I had a wooden frame, and eventually, the slats began to break. That's why I opted for metal this time. I'm glad I did because assembling a wooden frame is also a huge pain. I think this one will last a long time. I don't know how it would stand up to a busy household, but I live alone and don't plan on bouncing on it too often 😁.

This is working out quite well! So far I'm happy with it. So much better than what i had.
The price was right. And although there are a few bad reviews, there are a lot of good ones. I also saw this frame recommended on another site that was reviewing futon frames, "The Sleep Judge." It was #5, but number 1 was too expensive, number 2 was another DHP frame that wouldn't work for me, number 3 and number 4 were twin size chairs and expensive, and then there was this one. So when i saw it went on sale, i got it. I'm glad I did. It's working out well. It took a while to put together, but i would not say it was difficult. There were a lot of screws. Just stay organized about it. (I used my own hex tool which made it a bit easier) There was one part where the picture didn't match very well to the product, and I ended up having to redo something, but it didn't take long. Just pay really close attention to the drawings. Because this futon frame is lightweight, I would not suggest it for anyone who might be giving it a lot of punishment. I would also suggest, contrary to what the top reviewer says, do not use a power screwdriver unless you are very careful. I had no problem using a regular screwdriver to install all the screws. They do say that when the futon is pulled out in bed mode not to sit or lie on the very edge. I would say that would be more of a problem for a heavier person, but it's an issue of balance. Since they don't know the weight of the person purchasing it, they make the warning. (again, this is a lightweight frame.) If you have a thick futon mattress with coils/foam that doesn't fold easily, then there is a learning curve to getting this to go back into the couch position. At first i thought I would never be able to do it. (I still would have been better off than the old frame I had). But after some experimenting and practice, I can get it folded every day in a matter of seconds and I'm a 5 foot 4 inch woman. You need to stand on the side of the futon where the arm rest is. Grab the top of the "backrest" part of the mattress and push it forward like your pushing the mattress into a folded position, then grab the seat part of the frame and pull up toward the "backrest" part of the mattress. If this doesn't pop the frame into couch position, then let go of the mattress and grab the "backrest" part of the frame and pull it toward the "seat" part of the frame so the seat and backrest of the frame are forming a "V", then rock the whole thing forward (toward the seat side) and it should fall into position. It works for me every day.
