I love that it’s natural, can be used around eyes, on lips, in hair, face and body, lasts a long time, the smell is kinda weird but it goes away after you rub it in, can be used on sensitive, irritated skin and won’t clog pores ( I have rosacea, acne and eczema. It is a great shaving cream, is a AMAZING MULTITASKER! Improves skin’s appearance instantly. Can be used to make lip balms and cosmetics. Melt it with heat and add to bath for a moisturizer. Create a personalized skin cream to use as a gift. What I did was soften up the Shea butter using the jar inside a pan of boiling water. Once I did that I poured it into ice cube trays that were shaped like seashells, and I added some of my favorite essential oils, such as Bergamont, Frankensons and a mask combination that I found online and wrapped it in really cute mini plastic bags with ribbon gave them out as lotion bars and my friends went crazy! Yes, it was a ton of work and I probably won’t do it again but boy that was a fun gift to give out and it literally was under $50 for me to give 60 of them to my friends. Mother to rub in your body. It comes in a hard form and in order to rub it into your body you need to soften it up what I usually do is just heat the container up with the cap on with my blow dryer and soften it up that way, and then use the liquefied Shea butter on my body or if I’m in the mood to work my arms out lol. I will rub it on without heating it up it takes time to just rub it into your body, but what I’ve noticed is that it’s the only product that works on my extremely dry, flaky calves and nothing else does. I have used Saravi. I have used Urin , I have used AmLactin Nivia cocoa butter Jurgens you could buy two houses with the amount of moisturizer that I’ve purchased in the last year to fix my skin and for some reason this one gets rid of my yucky feeling dry calves. I want to say the smell is odd, so be prepared however it does fade very quickly and , it literally lasts for two days if I don’t really scrub it off. So for me, it’s a five star.

Do NOT be put off by the strong odor of Plant Therapy's Shea Butter. Many have made reviews stating how bad it smells. I'm assuming it's the natural odor of unadulterated fresh shea butter (extremely strong stench when I opened it). Started to return it because I thought it was bad but decided to leave the top off, to air out for a day. The strong odor (stench) began to fade. The smoothness made me air it out some more. I then decided to keep it. Glad I did. I melted it in a double boiler (you can also put water in a smaller pot/pan (on low heat) & place a larger empty pot/pan on top of that. Scoop shea butter in the top empty pan (I used only a portion of the shea butter first, to test). Once melted, I blended in my favorite mixes of Essential Oils, stirred, cooled down and poured into a jar, thus creating my own body butter. When I put on my face, I get a lovely dewy skin. Normally, my skin is dry. It may be different for those w/ oily skin. People tell me what beautiful skin I have.My skin looks like that dewy skin I see the celebrities have. I've tried all kinds of lubricants looking for this dewy appearance and finally found it in this Shea Butter. A little goes a long way. So glad I decided to keep it. Once I closed the top of the remaining unused butter and opened it again, there is that strange odor but it doesn't bother me now and it's not as strong as when I first opened it, though still a bit strange smelling I love what the product does for my skin.

After reading through previous reviews about the smell, I was hesitant to give this product a try. However, some people were in favor of the product and the smell was never mentioned. I opted to take a chance.Huge mistake!When the package arrived to my home, the seal was broken on the container. *Red flag*Perhaps it was how it shipped? (my whole Amazon order was NOT handled with care and another item had leaked everywhere in the box) I still can’t see how all the rough bumping through transit could have broken the seal.I went ahead and smelled the shea butter to see if previous reviews were right. I had every intention of sending the container back and getting another, but the smell was so bad.Yes, I understand that pure unrefined shea butter does not have a strong scent but this was not right.Maybe I got a bad batch? Maybe whoever was in charge of quality control made a huge error?Either way, I’m not doing this again.

I don’t write reviews very often, but I wanted to clarify these ridiculous comments on the smell of this product! It was because of these comments, I almost did not buy this product! Obviously, the people who are commenting about the smell being odd have never used Shea butter in their life! Well, at least those who have never use pure shea! I’ve been using it for 20 years and I’m here to tell you that the smell there are speaking about is the natural scent and is not as repugnant as they claim it to be. In fact, I appreciate the smell and it’s actually very appealing and soothing. I’m glad I did not Pay attention to the comments about the smell otherwise I wouldn’t have bought it. It was my first time getting it not from a store or on the street where they make it in front of you from the fruit! But it is exactly what I’m used to and I’m glad I actually purchased it! I hope this helps anyone hesitant by the comments about the smell! Shea butter is very good for dry skiing and taking away Roughness of the skin because I have seen it in action in a surprising way not even knowing it could do that! I was just using it because it is something I use on a regular for years! By the way, I saw a comment where they questioned the color of it. Natural pure Shea butter is generally white. Again, I could tell this person does not know Shea butter, and thought they had receives a faulty product. People do your research before you post things on here when you’re not knowledgeable of the product you buy. Geez!🙄
