Works as described
Good quality autotransformer, silent, works as described. Weighs in at 328g so it stays plugged into a good wall outlet just fine. No ground prong, non-polarized. Does not heat up much, uses about 1.5W on its own (3.7VA) at idle (no load). The ratio seems to be 117V/100V. Although it is advertised as a 100W that's peak power, so it's fine for a small piece of electronics drawing less than that.

Works as described
Had an issue initially where the transformer would not power on when plugged in. Prongs were slightly bent (from handling during shipping perhaps, the packaging was minimal) and so I looked it over to see if I could find the fault. The issue was that the contact tabs for the fuse were spread too wide, causing loss of contact. Carefully pushing them closer with the fuse removed did the trick and the unit now powers on and seems to operate as it should. The fuse "carrier" is a bit flexible and can be pushed down into the body of the device, so I imagine rough handling could have also caused the fuse carrier to be pushed in too far, opening the contacts slightly and causing the fault. Still, seems a solid device aside from that initial problem.

Review of voltage converter
I purchased this voltage converter when I discovered the Sansui EQ I got was meant to be run on only 100 volts--not 120! My mistake--I didn't see it in the ad! Normally these units have a multi-volt switch on the rear when they are sold internationally--but I had gotten this EQ directly from Japan,so it ws meant to only be used there--where their AC is only100 volts!. So,rather than try to find a 120-volt original power transformer for this extremely rare unit-I located this converter as a much easier and cheaper way to run my unit on the proper voltage.Saved my day! and my wallet--reasonably priced, and compact.
