Fantastic player. I had read many reviews saying as much and I was not disappointed. The sound quality is amazing, even through my micro hi-fi system. It also plays anything I throw at it, even scratched records that would jump on my old player. It even makes picture discs sound great. Easy to set up too.If I was to be mega picky I would say there were two small negatives: firstly I would ideally want a better hinge for the dust cover- the hinge doesn't hold the cover's weight so the cover can easily be dropped onto the player if it slips out of your hand whilst opening or closing. Secondly, the whole platter has to be removed in order to change the speed.These are minor compared to the awesome sound quality. If it can make a 40 year old scratched picture disc sound like a CD then I can live with lifting a platter!

The Rega is currently connected to a Denon DM41. The sound quality is good but I’m about to install the Rotel A11 Tribute Amp and the Rotel Tribute CD11 player. This will improve the quality of the Rega via the Amp which will drive the Dali Spector 2 speakers sound quality, to another level. Also consider upgrading the phono cables, this will help the Rega to achieve improved sound quality. Further upgrades can be done by replacing the cartridge, but the existing carbon cartridge will be fine for now.

I finally gave in and decided to join the new wave of vinyl users but didn't really know what turntable to get. My old Pioneer PL12d was amazing decades ago but I knew nothing about modern turntables. After lots of hunting around and reading many reviews, I decided to go for the Rega Planar 1 Plus.And do I regret it? Absolutely not! What a great sounding system!OK it's not the cheapest on the market but it's a very, very long way from the most expensive but, for the price, it sounds amazing.I was a bit concerned about buying the built-in preamp but I knew I'd need one as my amp is quite a distance from the turntable. I needn't have worried. It's absolutely fine.Other people have criticised the lid and the three legs, but I have absolutely no problem with them. I would recommend it with no reservations.

The turntable is great doing what it's supposed to. Smart Home Sounds really helped me out with some connection issues I had so big thanks to them great customer service..

Good value with the added phono stage. Worked first time straight out of the box with minimal set up effort. Fantastic sound quality for average money.

This is such a lovely piece of kit. Great sound quality and the slowly lowering arm is such a good addition for someone who does not have the steadiest hand in the world!!
