Q: Whats the proper way to remove the filter from the gun? I took the gun apart and tried to remove it from the top using needle nose pliers but couldnt.

As per the instructions you take the take the handle off using the hex "nut" on the bottom. Disconnect the gun from the sprayer first. I do this every time I use the gun to clean it and so paint does not dry inside the gun.
