This is a lovely option for a tall-person laptop riser. It came fully assembled. It is very light weight. It was carefully packaged and there were absolutely no dings or nicks and no noticeable scent or smell of chemicals from staining process. A helpful instruction sheet on how to avoid damage to the finish. The drawers open and close very smoothly. Lots of storage space--a few full-sized notebooks or magazines can fit in the lower drawers. This is sitting under a 14" laptop. Just the front and outside surfaces are stained, not the inside, which is great, no finish potentially transferring to stored papers, etc. It was a bit more expensive than some of the plastic drawer options, and absolutely worth every penny for me. It feels like it will last and not fall apart. I like it so much I would check out the accompanying pieces if I need more storage, etc.

Note USABLE Interior space. All drawers inside are:1 3/4" high x 9" deep;2 small drawers are each 5 1/4" wide; 2 large drawers are 12" wide. This is made with a super lightweight and soft wood, (think maybe one step up from balsa wood) It's put together nicely & edges around drawers are nicely beveled & smoothed. The separations between drawers are solid wood all the way surrounding each drawer. This wood would absorb dirt, grease, etc. and leave water rings, so you'd probably want to finish it with some sort of oil or polyurethane based wood finishing product. Insides might be a little too small for what I wanted.
