Works as it should.
Replaced failed cable tach in my 1979 tractor,Hooked up to W wire from alternator as suprisingly it was set cirrrct right out of the box and matched my handheld tach.Time will tell if it lasts but atleast I now know my rpm from inside the cab

Does not work smoothly or accurate.
took to long to get followed instructions doe not work smoothly or accurate. When returning a fix was suggested the wiring differently but wire colors are not the same on fix instructions as the actual tach.

Won't work using ignition coil as a sensor source.
Good looking tach but it would not work on my tractor using contact point ignition as a sensor source. I had to order a speed sensor from Eling and drill a hole through the engine bellhousing to align with the ring gear teeth and JB weld a M18 x 1.5 nut to the bellhousing. Once the speed sensor was installed and connected, the tach works fine after programming the tach to the amount of teeth on the ring gear. This is not an easy installation for someone that is not a mechanic or mechanically inclined. After installation and the first rain, moisture got inside the tach and fogged up the lens. It is still working but don't know for how long. The OEM tach didn't have moisture in it after 64 years of use. This tach is not as good as it is claimed for water resistance.
