Great story
Another amazing story by a great author. Kept me intrigued and pulled me in instantly. Can't wait to read the rest of this series.

Strong Heroine
The first chapter is a flashback to 4 years earlier. This book seems to be from multiple points of view.Emma is a wolf shifter who was abandoned. Aiden is a bit older and has grown closer to her, but they are from rival packs. Apparently, she bears a Mark that he deems the enemy.Emma catches the eye of her pack's alphas son Jacob. But she isn't interested in him. She wants Aiden, but then he doesn't show up and breaks her heart. The book jumps to the future college. She is still pinning after Aiden, but it is a semi relationship with Jacob. Aiden is at the same college. It seems she has to choose between her chosen mate from her pack and her fated mate from the rival pack. She has a star birthmark but not sure what it means yet. She has discovered the Aiden is her fated mate. But he broke her heart so long again she isn't interested in a repeat. This book gets intriguing as the love triangle blows up. But the draw to Aiden is too much to miss. But why did he leave? What is he hiding? So many questions to have answered. Oh, the answers come, and they are twisted. I love the tormented fate of our characters. Things heat up as secrets are openly exposed, and family turns on each other. They seek refuge with the witches, which I imagine for Aiden is most uncomfy since he isn't too fond of them. But he'll do anything for his mate. This book ends with a bang and hot steamy scenes. A fight ensues, and wow, I didn't see it coming.Of course, one thing leads to another, and now I cant wait to read the next part of their journey.I enjoyed this book. The fated mate's aspect, the prophecy, and the action in it. I loved that the main character was a half-wolf shifter and half-witch. I thought the author did a fantastic job of showing things from the main character's point of view and keeping the reader clueless as Emma finds out we do, making it much more fun to read. Yes, the book jumps point of view, but it doesn't resolve everything. Just gives the reader the feelings of the other characters. I thought how the author wove in a long-lost family member was excellent planning and exciting to the story. Obviously, Emma is a heroine as she doesn't take no for an answer instead of doing what she wants. Although the males in the story were essential to the storyline, they didn't dominate the story. I can't wait to read the next book in this trilogy.

Fated Mate
Emma was raised by adoptive parents and adoptive pack. She met Aidan a member of a different pack, knowing they could not be together. Emma's heart was broken when she turned 14, not understanding why Aidan had not shown up for her birthday. Emma tries to fill the void by being a perfect daughter and girlfriend to the alpha's son. Emma's life changes when she goes to college, she learns Aidan is a fellow student, and her life changes forever. Jen L Grey did an amazing job introducing the characters, can't wait to read book 2.

An Author Unpublished Book Review
This book was very middle-of-the-road for me. On the one hand, there were some things it did well: the narrative flowed well, and it wasn't filled with typos. I liked the main character, and I sympathized with her. I loved Beth and the witches. On the other hand, there were some problems: The main character's "boyfriend" felt rather one-dimensional, and as if his storyline hadn't quite been finished. The book felt rushed, and incredibly short. There was a lot of drama that was glossed over very quickly. The anti-witch, anti-women werewolf packs felt contrived - it felt like the author hadn't given enough clear reasons for why they were so hateful. Aiden's short paragraph viewpoints were unnecessary, and I'm not entirely sure why the author decided to include them other than to pad the word count.By the time the book ended, I was surprised how abruptly it was over. It wasn't a satisfying ending. Even though I enjoyed the story, the romance, and the overarching plot… it felt like this book should have been filled out more and polished up. It was so, so rushed. Overall, I'm glad I read it. I had fun reading it, and I don't hate the book… but it wasn't as great as it could have been had the author spent more time on it.

Moon kissed
Excellent book. Highly recommend. Exceptional story line that held your interest and attention making it hard to put down. Downside is it ends in a cliff hanger. On to the next book in this series.

Good story base
3,5 rounded 4This is a really good story. Teenfriend to kisser to enemies and whatnot…. Good! I enjoyed the storyline and dvelopment of the tension between the characters. Its mostly YA fantasy with a tiny bit of quicksteam at the end and then the book is done.As a series I guess we will see whats more to come.I mostly enjoyed the book and its a quick easy read.

Storyline
I really enjoyed the overall premise of this book. And I'm really looking forward to reading the other books in the series. I think the author did a really good job of setting up the story. As well as engaging us in the concepts of what is to unfold in the future books. I really like all the characters so far. I won't lie though Finn really concerns me. Jacob does too. They're obsession with the things that they can't turn their back is unsettling. I'm excited to know more about Beth. I have a lot of expectations after this one. I bought books 2 and 3... fingers crossed they hook me as well.

And once again..
... a DNF-Book.I made it to about 60 % before i just couldn't stand it anymore. Not only did it feel forced, some stuff was just plain stupid, like:Heroine tells us, that she was found as a baby on packland with a dead shifter, who was most likely her father, besides her. Like a paragraph later, she says she has issues because her real parents didn't want her...Or he is telling her it causes issues with his family and he can't tell her everything right now, and that he is sorry about it. She says on her inner monologue like direct after, that she had a feeling something must bugging him and assumes that it is the issue with the family and his secrets. Many dialogues like that and the overall week story plus the character-depth of a rain puddle turned me really off...

Good start to the series
The story is a cool take on a shifter witch hybrid curse/prophecy and it's a very cool story. The adventure continues. On to book 2!
