Leon: Fast Vegetarian

A very useful cookery book
I bought this book having eaten a recipe from it. I have made several dishes which are delicious and, most important, the ingredients are widely available. Some dishes are faster to make than others, but I see the book becoming a mainstay in my library

A lovely gift for a vegetarian
Bought this book as a gift for my daughter's boyfriend who is a vegetarian. Had a quick look through it before I gave to him and have stolen some of the meal ideas as it was full of really good and interesting recipes. Most of the recipes seem quite simple to do and use normal ingredients. Would definitely recommend this book.

Finally an interesting vegetarian cookbook without loads of cheese
Sick of vegetarian cook books which rely heavily on cheese, eggs or pasta? Then this is the one for you. I have shelves of cool books, but this is my absolute tasty favourite as of a few weeks ago when so took the plunge and treated myself. I love this book, the recipes are quick, really work, and are yum. So far everything I have cooked has been delicious. As a plus the photos are very well organised, and endearing.

Another Hit from Leon
A really great selection of vegetarian recipes with a wide variety of key ingredients. The book really encompasses a mixture of dishes including starters, mains, sides, deserts, dressings and sauces. The two recipes we have tried to far (soba noodles with vegetables & polenta with creamed kale) were both delicious and idiot-proof; a necessity in our kitchen! Highly recommend to all chefs; even those seasoned vegetarians are sure to find some new and exciting ideas in here.

I'm a huge fan of Leon restaurants and love their food
I'm a huge fan of Leon restaurants and love their food. I also have their first cookbook, which is one of my favourites, out of my rather large collection of cookbooks. So I had high hopes for this one...There are lots of great side dishes and mezze type recipes, however hardly any main meals to choose from. I guess I was expecting a cookbook for vegetarians, but I'd say this is more of a cookbook for someone who's looking for interesting side dishes to go with a meaty main meal. Also, I know it's the Leon style, but one too many baby pictures for my liking...

love this book!
I've been veggie for 31 years and have lots of cook books but needed a bit of inspiration to find some new staples - this one has a delicious sounding recipie on (almost) every page - Ive made many things in the first 2 weeks of owning it - cauliflower as cous cous and an aubergine canneloni style thing being my favourite to date - each recipie uses items already in my cupboard, no odd or fancy items needed, and they are quick to prepare. Its one of my favurite books already.

Many of the recipes are not that fast
Lots of good recipes in this book but many of them need a fair amount of cooking and preparation time. Quite a number of them are or can be easily adapted if you need to cook for a vegan

Leon:Fast Vegetarian
A very attractive cookbook, packed with good ideas. I like a cookbook to read and this does. A journey of food and also of family (rather a personal journey)and jammed with lovely photography. The kindle version (I purchased)certainly does not disappoint, it's beautifully formatted for Kindle, giving the same experience as a hard copy.

Great "Fast food" vegetarian recipes
Bought it a couple of weeks ago and have tried many recipes. Very happy so far, it makes a nice change, I love the 50'ies air to it, great photos. Needs quite a few ingredients such as spices and staples in the cupboard (larder sounds odd to a vegetarian...). Looking forward to carrying on testing and tasting the other recipes

Not exactly FAST but a huge volume of varied recipes
I bought this book because we are more and more off meat and, as a working mum, I need ideas to cook for the family without spending half the day in the kitchen mixing pastes and soaking pulses. I thought this book would be great for me, but I understood the title wrong. It turns out that LEON is a chain of (healthy, good quality) fast-food restaurants in England, so the FAST comes from fast eating rather than fast preparing. So, it contains lots of recipes which require comprehensive preparations and vast amounts of exotic spices.Having said that, this tome is hundreds of pages heavy, and of course it also contains a number of recipes which are quick and easy and can be made without a long shopping list. So I guess you could say, it's much more than I wanted. I should just tear out all the pages I don't need. It's a beautifully made book, though, heavy hard cover, lovely layouts and pictures - if a little heavy on the "we're such a great, innovative company" tone.
